Grant Description

The Community Arts and Vitality Grants program is administered by the City of Seaside Visitors Bureau in coordination with the Tourism Advisory Committee. This initiative supports public art installations, murals, and shovel-ready placemaking projects that enhance Seaside’s long-term cultural identity and appeal as a tourism destination. By funding projects that add visual interest and cultural vibrancy, the grant aims to attract visitors from outside the area while also creating long-lasting value for residents. For the 2025–2026 fiscal cycle, up to $25,000 in total funding is expected to be available. These funds may be awarded entirely to one outstanding project or split among multiple qualifying proposals. Projects must be completed and all grant funds expended by June 30, 2026. The funding cannot be used for routine maintenance, repairs, operating expenses, or as matching funds for other City of Seaside grant programs. Eligible applicants include artists, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, civic groups, and property owners, as well as collaborative efforts among these groups. All applicants must propose projects that are ready for implementation and have a clear benefit for tourism—defined as being marketable to travelers from more than 50 miles away. Grant-funded projects must remain physically located within the Seaside area after completion. Applications are accepted online, with supplemental documents to be submitted via email. The application window opened on September 19, 2025, and will close on December 5, 2025. Submissions will be reviewed by the Tourism Advisory Committee at their next regularly scheduled meeting following the deadline, and applicants will be notified of funding decisions within 60 days of the deadline. Successful applicants must provide proper permits and approvals, as well as a final report upon project completion. Future eligibility for any City of Seaside funding is contingent on timely submission of this report. All promotional materials must acknowledge the grant with a specific funding statement and include required logos, subject to review by the city’s tourism director.
