Gray Farms Presidents Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance to high-achieving graduating high school seniors from specific counties in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky who plan to pursue higher education.
The Gray Farms Presidents Scholarship, established by the heirs and friends of the Gray Family, offers two annual $1,000 awards to graduating high school seniors in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. This scholarship honors past presidents of the Gray Family’s business interests and supports students from counties where the family has historically operated. The award aims to encourage academic achievement and provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. Eligible applicants must attend high schools located in specific counties across the three states and maintain a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 unweighted scale. Students must plan to enroll in an accredited college or university. Eligible counties include Crawford, Edwards, Gallatin, and others in Illinois; Daviess, Gibson, Knox, and others in Indiana; and Butler, Ohio, and McLean in Kentucky. Selection is based on a range of criteria, each worth 10 points, including academics, work experience, school and community activities, fine arts and sports participation, a personal statement, financial need, unusual circumstances, and an essay outlining aspirations and educational goals. Applicants must also provide two letters of recommendation—one from a teacher and another from a non-relative not affiliated with the school or foundation. Additional requirements include an official grade transcript and FAFSA completion. The application deadline is January 20, 2025, by midnight CST. Applications must be submitted through the online portal using access code "cfa." Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the application process on the Community Foundation Alliance website for guidance. Questions can be directed to the foundation at 812-429-1191 or through their contact form online. This scholarship offers a valuable opportunity for high-achieving students in the eligible counties to gain financial support for their educational pursuits while honoring the legacy of the Gray Family's business contributions to these communities.
