The FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) - FY2024 Post Fire provides assistance to communities to implement hazard mitigation measures after wildfire disasters. Eligible applicants include local governments, communities, state agencies, and private nonprofits that own or operate a private nonprofit facility as defined in Section 102 (11) (B) of the Stafford Act. The program requires a FEMA approved Hazard Mitigation Plan at the time of project submission and award. Applications must be submitted by November 1, 2024, at 5:00 PM through the Grants Management System (GMS). Approximately 1,900,000 is available initially, with additional funding possible through FMAG declarations. Eligibilty will be for counties or burned tribal lands with FMAG declarations; statewide if benefiting a declared area
