Indian Health Grant

The 2025-2026 Indian Health Grant Program, offered by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), supports projects that provide clinical health services to American Indians living off reservations. This funding aims to enhance access to culturally informed preventive, medical, dental, and mental health care for this population. The grant period runs from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026. Eligible applicants include Tribal Nations and nonprofit organizations that deliver clinical health services to American Indians residing off reservations. Grant awards range from $10,000 up to $100,000 per project, with a total estimated funding pool of $348,000 over two years. Funds may be used for a variety of expenses including salaries, fringe benefits, travel costs, supplies, contracted services, equipment and capital improvements, as well as indirect costs. Projects funded under this program should focus on expanding or enhancing clinical health services tailored to the needs of American Indians living off reservations in Minnesota. Eligible expenditures can only be incurred after the grant agreement is fully executed and the grant has become effective.
