Short Term Transitional Residence Program for Adults with a Serious Mental IllnessBroome and Columbia CountiesThe Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking Request for Proposals (RFPs) from not-for-profit organizations with experience in operating a licensed, mental health housing program, to develop and operate a ten (10) to fourteen (14) unit Short-Term Transitional Residence (STTR) for adults with serious mental illness who need additional support to strengthen the skills needed to move to more independent housing. OMH intends to award one program in Broome County and one program in Columbia County.The Short-Term Transitional Residence is intended to provide a home-like environment. The program will offer supports and skills training in a comfortable, safe, and recovery-oriented environment. Private bedrooms are ideal, but no more than two people may share a room. Ample kitchen, dining and living space must be provided in order to facilitate skill building, group activities, and recreational opportunities. All proposals to this RFP must be submitted through the SFS. No hard copy or electronic (email) submissions will be accepted. Instructions for this can be found in Section 2.9 of the RFP. All applicants must be Prequalified by the due date and time for this RFP.
