AACR-AstraZeneca Endometrial Cancer Research Fellowship

The AACR-AstraZeneca Endometrial Cancer Research Fellowship is a funding opportunity jointly offered by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and AstraZeneca. This fellowship aims to promote and support early-career researchers conducting innovative research projects that are directly applicable to endometrial cancer. The program is designed to foster the development of researchers into independent investigators and to help establish successful careers in the field of endometrial cancer research. The fellowship provides a two-year grant totaling $130,000, beginning on July 1, 2025. The funding is intended to support the salary and benefits of the postdoctoral or clinical research fellow. A portion of the funds may also be allocated to non-personnel research-related expenses such as laboratory supplies, equipment, and publication fees for work directly related to the funded project. Notably, funds from this fellowship may not be used for clinical practice compensation or indirect costs. Eligible research may span basic, translational, clinical, or population sciences, but all projects must have a clear, direct relevance to endometrial cancer. The AACR encourages proposals that address significant scientific challenges and opportunities in the field and promotes research that can drive improvements in diagnosis, treatment, or patient outcomes. To be eligible, applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) and not be currently pursuing another doctoral degree. They must occupy or have secured a mentored research position (e.g., postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow) by the grant start date. Applicants must have earned their most recent doctoral degree or completed their medical residency (whichever is later) within the last five years, i.e., no earlier than July 1, 2020. The host institution may be located anywhere in the world, and there are no citizenship restrictions; however, international applicants must ensure their visa status allows for completion of the grant term. Applicants must be AACR members in good standing at the time of application. Early-career researchers are eligible for Associate membership without annual dues, and applicants from countries with developing cancer research infrastructures may also qualify for waived dues. Nonmembers must apply for membership by the application deadline and obtain a nomination from an Active AACR member.
