The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage is offering Evolving Futures Grants in 2025 to help cultural organizations in the five-county Philadelphia region make transformative changes to their core operational or business models. These grants are not intended to refresh existing models or support general operations but to foster significant strategic change leading to long-term organizational viability and sustainability.
Two types of Evolving Futures grants are available:
Planning Grants: These support preparatory work such as research, feasibility studies, and consultant hiring to help organizations clarify and define the necessary operational changes. Planning grants are intended to prepare organizations to apply for future Implementation grants.
Implementation Grants: These support organizations that have already identified a critical operational challenge and are ready to enact structured plans for business model transformation.
Eligibility is restricted to organizations that have received a project grant from the Center between 2014β2024 and that meet other specific criteria. Capacity Building funds are also available to help prospective applicants prepare their grant proposals through activities like travel, research, or technical assistance.
The Project Brief is due by May 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST. Applicants meeting eligibility will be invited to initial proposal meetings starting mid-April 2025, with full applications due by July 25, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST. Organizations must submit an Inquiry Form to initiate the process and determine eligibility.
