Grant Description

The Delaware Division of the Artsโ€™ Arts Stabilization Fund (ASF) provides grants to nonprofit arts organizations for facility improvements, including repairs, renovations, and equipment upgrades. These grants aim to address physical plant needs, enhance operational systems, and improve safety and accessibility. Eligible organizations must own or lease their facilities long-term and be eligible for General Operating Support. Arts Consortium of Delaware, Inc. (ArtCo) members are not eligible for ASF grants. Applicants may propose one discrete project, with priority given to structural renovations, safety upgrades, accessibility improvements, and enhancements to program delivery systems. Routine maintenance, office equipment, and unrelated multiple projects are not eligible. Grant awards typically do not exceed $20,000, and while matching funds are not mandatory, they can strengthen an application. Funding must be used for projects occurring between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on March 3, 2025, and must include an organizational profile, project narrative, budget, competitive bids, photo documentation, and proof of ownership or lease. Additional items, such as board lists and IRS 990 forms, are required for organizations not applying for General Operating Support. Materials are submitted through the smARTDE portal. Grant decisions are based on urgency, alignment with long-range facility plans, and financial feasibility. Recommendations are made in June 2025, with notifications sent after July 1, 2025. Successful applicants must comply with reporting requirements, including submitting final reports by September 30, 2026. For guidance, organizations are encouraged to consult the Division of the Arts before applying.
