Selected recipients can receive awards of up to $500,000 USD, with the final announcements expected early next year.
In addition to the open call, the program includes a series of in-person and virtual events worldwide, such as hackathons, workshops, and trainings, to help local communities explore Llama 3.1's potential for addressing regional issues. These events will take place in various regions, including Egypt, India, North America, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia. Participants may also be considered for specialized awards of up to $100,000 USD.
Applications for the Llama 3.1 Impact Grants are due by November 22, 2024. Past programs have attracted widespread participation, with over 800 applications from 90+ countries in the inaugural round.
