By way of clarification, a not-for-profit corporation’s status as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code is granted by the IRS, which issues a letter evidencing its approval of that organization’s charitable status. This letter acts as that organization’s certification that it is a duly qualified charitable tax-exempt organization under IRS 501 (c) (3)
