Blue Mountain Community Foundation Grant

The Blue Mountain Community Foundation (BMCF), founded in 1984, is a regional philanthropic institution serving the Blue Mountain area. It was established by a coalition of local leaders to provide a vehicle for charitable giving that remains under local control. BMCF is part of the larger community foundation movement in the United States, which aims to support geographically specific regions through sustained, long-term investment. The Foundation has grown significantly over the years and now manages more than $115 million in assets distributed across over 440 charitable funds, contributing to the vitality and wellbeing of its service region. BMCF is currently offering its 2025 Grant Opportunities to support local nonprofit and public organizations that deliver services in Columbia, Garfield, and Walla Walla counties in Washington, as well as Umatilla County in Oregon. The grant program focuses on providing general operating support, reflecting the Foundation's commitment to flexible funding that allows organizations to pursue their missions more effectively. Grants of up to $20,000 are available to eligible applicants. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) public charities, private operating foundations, religious organizations with valid IRS nonprofit status, and municipalities undertaking specific public service purposes, including Native American tribal governments. Organizations not meeting these requirements must partner with an eligible fiscal sponsor. The application cycle opens on August 1 and closes at 5:00 PM on August 29. Awards will be announced in November. The application must be submitted via the BMCF online grant portal.
