Attorney General Kris Mayes has announced a $6 million grant program to support Tribal Nations in Arizona impacted by fraudulent practices associated with sober living homes. Funded through the Anti-Racketeering Revolving Fund, the initiative addresses the harm caused by behavioral healthcare fraud targeting the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). This program aims to provide relief and resources to communities affected by these unethical practices.
Through the Sober Living Home Support Program, Tribal Nations can apply for grants of up to $500,000. These funds are intended to compensate individuals impacted by the fraud, fund remediation programs, and implement supportive community-based initiatives, including housing and recovery support. The program underscores Attorney General Mayes’ commitment to holding wrongdoers accountable while providing much-needed resources for vulnerable populations.
Eligible Tribal Nations must submit their grant applications through the State of Arizona’s grant portal by January 31, 2025. Applications should outline how the proposed initiatives will deliver direct assistance and support recovery efforts for those affected by the fraudulent practices.
