The Fiscal Year 2025 Fostering Access, Rights and Equity (FARE) Grant Program, issued by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau, supports projects aimed at assisting marginalized and underserved women workers impacted by gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in the world of work. GBVH includes activities that occur in the course of, linked with, or arising out of work. The program seeks to address GBVH, which is pervasive across industries and significantly affects the safety, economic security, and overall employment rights of women workers and survivors.
The program expects to fund up to four awards, with a total estimated funding of $1,000,000. Individual grants will range from $250,000 to $350,000. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations, including community-based organizations, worker groups, unions, or similar entities that have deep connections with underserved and marginalized women workers disproportionately affected by GBVH. Applicants must demonstrate expertise and the capacity to provide women workers with knowledge and tools to address GBVH using trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches. Proposed projects must be designed for rapid implementation.
Projects funded under this grant will focus on building awareness of GBVH, connecting women to federal and state workplace rights and benefits, and implementing survivor-driven strategies to change workplace norms. Activities may include education, outreach, advocacy, and support systems that empower women workers and improve workplace environments. Successful applicants will prioritize the needs of survivors and demonstrate a strong understanding of the unique barriers and challenges facing marginalized women workers.
Applications are expected to be posted on April 11, 2025, with a submission deadline of June 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Award notifications are anticipated before September 30, 2025, which is also the estimated project start date.
