Grant Description

The Avangrid Foundation Wildlife Rehabilitation Grant Program 2025 is now open for applications from eligible wildlife organizations operating within Avangrid’s U.S. service areas. Established in 2016, the program supports the care of injured wildlife, promotes community education around wildlife resources and energy, and fosters stronger relationships between the environmental community and energy sector operations. Since its inception, the program has awarded over $1 million to rehabilitation centers across the nation. The Foundation encourages proposals from organizations with a primary mission focused on wildlife rehabilitation, with at least one year of operational history, holding current applicable permits to handle and rehabilitate wildlife. Organizations must operate within or in proximity to an Avangrid service area. Applications are open from September 15, 2025, to October 15, 2025, and must be submitted via email by midnight on the closing date. The program offers funding to support direct wildlife care, facility improvements, and community education efforts. Past projects have included emergency veterinary care, advanced rehabilitation enclosures, avian flight conditioning spaces, and public outreach campaigns. While the total funding amount available for the 2025 cycle is not specified, the Foundation continues to expand geographic reach and prioritize high-impact work in avifauna, marine life, and endangered species recovery. Organizations focusing on raptors, bats, shorebirds, and threatened or endangered wildlife may receive preference, as well as those engaging communities near Avangrid’s power generation and network sites. Funding decisions will be communicated by December 31, 2025. Applicants can access a Funding Inquiry Form and are encouraged to reach out to the Avangrid Foundation via email for further guidance. Avangrid Foundation is the independent, mission-driven 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group. Its mission includes building sustainable communities and supporting environmental stewardship in areas where Avangrid operates.
