Changemaker Accreditation Grants
This grant provides financial assistance to birth centers facing economic challenges, helping them cover accreditation fees while promoting access to quality care in underserved communities.
The Changemaker Accreditation Grant supports birth centers by covering up to 100% of the initial accreditation fee or the annual fees due to the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC). Established in honor of the birth center movement's founders and current and future changemakers, this grant aims to propel the movement forward. To qualify, birth centers must demonstrate financial hardship in covering CABC accreditation fees, have a plan to complete and maintain accreditation, and be AABC Birth Center Members without having received an Accreditation Support Grant in the last three years. Special consideration is given to centers focusing on low-income communities, situated in rural or low-income areas, with annual revenues below $100,000, or committed to public education about birth centers.
