Women’s Fund in Wisconsin

The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay, a program of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, provides targeted support for initiatives that empower women and inspire girls throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Since its inception in 1995, the Women’s Fund has awarded more than $1.5 million to projects focused on improving the lives of those who identify as women or girls. The fund is sustained by an endowment and remains committed to fostering healthier, safer, and more equitable opportunities for female-identifying individuals. The program operates on a biannual cycle, offering two grant rounds per year. The Winter Cycle opens on November 1 and closes January 11, while the Summer Cycle opens May 1 and closes July 1. Applicants typically receive decisions within 8 to 10 weeks after the deadline. Organizations are encouraged to consult with the Community Impact Team prior to submitting a proposal to ensure alignment with program goals. Grants are typically awarded in amounts up to $20,000 and support a variety of efforts, including program and project implementation, equipment purchases tied to specific initiatives, operational needs, and other priorities determined by the Grants Committee. Eligible programs must be imaginative, results-oriented, and sustainable. Preference is given to proposals that are driven by measurable outcomes and include the input and participation of the women and girls being served. Eligibility is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and governmental, educational, or religious entities that conduct nondiscriminatory business and provide services within Brown, Kewaunee, or Oconto counties. Faith-based organizations may apply if their services are open to all individuals regardless of religion and are not religious in nature. Notably, programs designed for both genders are not eligible unless they directly support women and girls through their work with men and boys (e.g., programs on healthy relationships). Applications must be submitted through the online portal and should follow the required format, which includes a budget form. A final report will be requested around one year after the award date, and early reapplication requires communication with the Community Impact Team.
