Bucks Innovation & Improvement Grants
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, for innovative projects that enhance the well-being of children, young adults, and families, particularly in the areas of behavioral health and human services.
The Bucks Innovation and Improvement Grants (BIIG) program, administered by Foundations Community Partnership (FCP), supports innovative projects that improve behavioral health and human services for children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. FCP is a nonprofit organization that funds initiatives aligned with its mission to enhance the quality of life in the region. The BIIG program specifically targets nonprofit organizations serving the Bucks County area, and emphasizes projects with measurable outcomes and local community impact. Applicants to the BIIG program must be nonprofit organizations classified under Section 501(c)(3) and either 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. Ineligible applicants include individuals, political or religious entities, unregistered fiscal sponsors, or any organization not serving the behavioral health and human service needs of the target population. The grant cycle includes two funding rounds annually, in spring and fall. Each round begins with a mandatory Letter of Inquiry (LOI), followed by an invitation to submit a full application if approved. Spring deadlines are April 1 for LOI and April 15 for full application; fall deadlines are October 1 and October 15, respectively. Applicants must submit SMART goals—specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound—to demonstrate the impact of proposed initiatives. Grant recipients are required to provide a six-month progress report and a 12-month final report. The funding can be allocated across various needs including capital expenditures, programmatic development, or personnel support, as long as the budget clearly accounts for requested grant funds. There is no restriction on use categories. For first-time applicants, FCP requests an introductory meeting before the application is advanced. Additionally, new grantees must complete one full grant cycle before reapplying. FCP performs thorough due diligence during the review process, including verification of nonprofit status through GuideStar, analysis of independent audits and financial statements, and potential site visits. This review adheres to Council on Foundations standards. All applications must be submitted via FCP’s online FOUNDANT platform. Incomplete, late, or ineligible applications will not be considered. FCP encourages organizations to review proposal guidance resources from Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia and the Council on Foundations. For help with FOUNDANT registration or technical issues, applicants can contact FCP via email at [email protected] or by phone at (267) 247-5584. Awards are issued biannually, with evaluations occurring in spring and fall. Applicants should ensure alignment with FCP’s mission and adhere strictly to the procedural guidelines to enhance their chances of success.
