The Bucks Innovation and Improvement Grants (BIIG), administered by Foundations Community Partnership (FCP), provide up to $15,000 in funding to support innovative ideas that improve the quality of life for children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These competitive grants focus on behavioral health and human service initiatives and are awarded twice annually—in December and June—following spring and fall application cycles.
To be eligible, organizations must be recognized as 501(c)(3) public charities classified under 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the IRS code and must serve residents within Bucks County. Applications from individuals, political or religious entities, umbrella organizations without IRS-compliant legal relationships, or entities outside the required classifications are not accepted. Applicants must demonstrate how their proposed project supports the “Community Mental Health” concept and provide measurable goals and outcomes using S.M.A.R.T. criteria.
The BIIG process begins with a required online Letter of Inquiry (LOI). For the fall cycle, the LOI must be submitted by October 1, and the full application—if invited—must be submitted by October 15. For the spring cycle, the deadlines are April 1 for the LOI and April 15 for the full application. First-time applicants are required to participate in a preliminary meeting with FCP. FCP may schedule meetings or site visits as part of its due diligence process and requires GuideStar verification, recent financial documentation, and alignment with Council on Foundations standards.
Grant recipients must submit a six-month progress report and a twelve-month final report. Projects are expected to define detailed benchmarks and outcome metrics within their proposal. Funding may be allocated toward capital, programmatic, or personnel expenses without restriction. An organization may only receive one BIIG grant within a 12-month period. However, they may concurrently participate in other FCP programs such as the Summer Youth Corps or receive other types of grants (e.g., PYS or Capital Improvement), provided each is within separate funding categories.
Applications are submitted via the FOUNDANT platform, which requires account setup. Support for technical issues is available by emailing info@fcpartnership.org or calling (267) 247-5584. Grant decisions are made following due diligence reviews and announced in December (for fall applicants) or June (for spring applicants).
Watch due diligence video after LOI; contact FCP early; first-time applicants require an initial meeting; use FOUNDANT platform; late or incomplete applications will be rejected.
