Greater Green Bay Grant Program
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and government entities in Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties to support innovative projects that address community needs in areas such as education, health, and the arts.
The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation offers the Funds for Greater Green Bay grant program to support projects that aim to enhance the quality of life and future prospects for residents in the Green Bay area. The foundation, known for its commitment to measurable and community-driven outcomes, funds initiatives across multiple focus areas including arts and culture, basic needs, education, environmental conservation, health, human services, support for older adults, community improvement, and youth development. The grant program is structured into two annual funding cycles: the Winter Cycle opens on November 1 and closes January 11, while the Summer Cycle opens on May 1 and closes July 1. Applicants can expect funding decisions within 8 to 10 weeks following the close of the application window. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the Community Impact Team before submitting an application to discuss their proposals. Typical awards are up to $20,000 and can support a variety of initiatives including program or project-specific work, equipment and technology, capacity building, operational needs, and other community-identified priorities. Projects should demonstrate alignment with one or more funding priority areas and show potential for self-sufficiency, collaboration, feasibility, and long-term impact. Proposals are assessed based on need, clarity of actions, capacity-building potential, risk, budget appropriateness, outcome measurement, and historical compliance with past grants. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status or governmental entities such as schools or municipalities. The funded work must serve the people in the greater Green Bay area, with specific emphasis on Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties. Applicants must operate without discrimination and faith-based organizations are eligible if their services are nonsectarian and open to all community members. The grant does not fund individuals, endowments, debt-related costs, lobbying activities, or projects that occur prior to award issuance. Applications must be submitted online, and final reports are required approximately one year after funding is awarded. Organizations seeking to reapply within that period must coordinate with the Community Impact Team. For more information, applicants can reach out to Kari Olsen, Director of Grants & Scholarship Programming, at 920.432.0800 or via email at kariolsen@ggbcf.org. The most recent application form and budget requirements can be accessed through the foundationโs website. The grant is issued biannually and recurring, with the next anticipated open cycle in May 2026.
