Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation Grant

The Bowman & Slope County Community Foundation (BSCF) has announced three grant rounds for the year 2025, supported by additional funding from Grid United’s Community Investment Program. BSCF exists to meet urgent needs in Bowman and Slope counties in North Dakota, focusing on general community improvements and quality-of-life enhancements. Grid United, an independent transmission company, has contributed a significant donation to support entities serving the Slope County population, creating enhanced funding opportunities for local projects in the 2025 grant cycle. The 2025 funding schedule includes a spring round with $36,800 available specifically for organizations serving Slope County, and a fall round offering $47,854 for organizations serving either Bowman or Slope County. Additionally, a special capital project grant of $150,000 will be awarded in the fall to a single organization serving Slope County. Applicants may apply for one, two, or all three of these grant opportunities. The foundation encourages applications that serve a large number of county residents and address the most urgent community needs. Eligible applicants must be either a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a government agency, or an entity with a fiscal sponsor meeting these qualifications. Grants are generally for one-time needs and cannot be used for multi-year pledges, political activity, scholarships, or day-to-day operating expenses. Grants to religious organizations are permitted only if the programs are non-sectarian and serve the broader community. Examples of eligible projects include new playgrounds, tree planting in parks, food support in schools, and emergency service equipment needs such as ambulances or fire protection. Applicants are encouraged to review the grant guidelines before applying and must register via the foundation’s online grant portal, where they will be required to enter organizational and leadership information. After registration, applicants can submit their proposals through the portal interface. The foundation evaluates applications based on impact, with priority given to organizations with limited access to other funding sources. Grants may be awarded in full or in part, depending on the Advisory Committee’s discretion and availability of funds.
