Grant Description

The Community Foundation of Louisa County, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, administers the Endow Iowa Granting program to support local nonprofit initiatives aligned with community priorities. Established in 2005, the Community Foundation of Louisa County serves as a key resource for residents, donors, and nonprofits across the region. Through this grant program, the foundation seeks to encourage charitable activity and help address present and emerging needs in Louisa County, Iowa. The 2025 Endow Iowa Granting cycle opened on September 1, 2025, and will close on September 30, 2025, at noon. The minimum grant request is $1,000, and the maximum is $7,500. Grant awards are available to organizations with valid 501(c)(3) or equivalent IRS tax-exempt status. Organizations without this status may still apply by partnering with a qualified fiscal sponsor. All projects must align with the stated focus areas and support initiatives that directly benefit the residents of Louisa County. Eligible projects must fall within one or more of the foundation’s priority areas: arts, culture, and humanities; education; environment; health; human services; and public/societal benefit. Preference is given to proposals that demonstrate additional sources of funding and those that align with identified local priorities, such as the Louisa County Comprehensive Plan or community visioning efforts. These elements are considered indicators of strategic alignment and local collaboration, both of which strengthen a proposal’s competitiveness. Applications must be submitted through the Community Foundation’s online grant portal by the posted deadline. Late submissions will not be considered. Awards will be disbursed directly to the 501(c)(3) organization or fiscal sponsor listed in the application. Projects should clearly define their goals, target populations, expected impact, and use of requested funds. Questions regarding the application process or grant eligibility should be directed to Kelse Truitt, Affiliate Director for the Community Foundation of Louisa County, at cflc@givinggreater.org or by phone at 563-264-3863. The foundation encourages early inquiries to clarify requirements or ensure eligibility prior to submission. The Endow Iowa Granting program is part of a broader effort to build community leadership and resilience in Louisa County. Through this initiative, the Community Foundation seeks to foster long-term investments in programs that serve the public good, improve quality of life, and encourage collaboration among local stakeholders.
