Tourism Assistance Grant Program
This program provides financial support to local nonprofit and community organizations in Fayette County to enhance tourism and recreational activities, attracting visitors and boosting the local economy.
The Fayette County Travel & Tourism Bureau operates the Tourism Assistance Grant (TAG) Program to support local nonprofit and community organizations in enhancing tourism and recreational opportunities throughout Fayette County. This initiative aims to promote a positive image of the area to potential visitors, generate increased public engagement, and stimulate overnight visits, thereby contributing to the economic vitality of the county. The TAG Program was established to reinforce the economic impact of tourism by funding events and projects that have the potential to attract visitors and boost local recreational activity. Eligible applicants must be able to demonstrate organizational stability, strong public outreach efforts, and a capacity to raise additional funds beyond the grant request. Proposed initiatives must be executed within the same calendar year for which the funding is awarded. Funding for each approved project is capped at $5,000 annually and is provided on a reimbursement basis. Applicants are expected to secure additional financial support from other sources, as the grant is not intended to fully cover project costs. All awarded funds must be expended and requested for disbursement by December 31, 2026. Appropriate documentation such as paid invoices, receipts, or signed work orders is required for reimbursement. To be considered for the 2026 funding cycle, completed applications and supporting materials must be submitted to the Fayette County Travel & Tourism Bureau no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025. Submissions will be reviewed by the Bureauβs Board of Directors, who will determine award recipients through a consensus vote. Notifications will be issued via mail or email by December 31, 2025, and funds will become available beginning January 1, 2026. Grant recipients must acknowledge the Bureau as a sponsor in all print and digital promotional materials related to the supported project. Non-compliance with program requirements, including failure to properly acknowledge sponsorship or provide required documentation, may result in denial of future funding and repayment of disbursed amounts. If a funded event or project is cancelled or deemed unfeasible, the grant allocation will revert to the Bureau. For more information or questions about the application process, applicants can contact Stephanie Dunham, Executive Director of the Fayette County Travel & Tourism Bureau, at stephanie@visitfayco.com or by phone at 740-335-8008.
