Grant Description

The El Dorado Hills Area Foundation Grant is administered through the El Dorado Community Foundation and is designed to support nonprofit organizations and agencies providing services or programming that includes the El Dorado Hills community. The grant reflects the Foundation’s focus on uplifting unmet community needs and does not impose a specific funding focus. It encourages innovative and meaningful proposals that address gaps in services or opportunities within the region. Eligible applicants include all nonprofits that serve or include El Dorado Hills within their program scope. The application is open to proposals requesting up to $10,000. The funding is intended for direct organizational projects or programs. The grant will not support fundraising events or sponsorship requests. This grant aims to provide flexible financial support for local impact initiatives without prescribing a topic area, allowing applicants to present the most pressing or visionary ideas relevant to the El Dorado Hills community. The 2026 grant application is conducted entirely online through the Foundation’s Grants Management Tool. All applicants must create an account to apply and may save progress and return before submission. Completed applications must be submitted no later than September 25, 2025, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Grant recipients will be notified and awarded in January 2026. Organizations that received funding during the 2025 cycle must submit their final impact reports by December 1, 2025, to be considered for current-year funding. Beginning in 2025, any organization that has received grants from this fund in two consecutive years will be required to skip one full year before reapplying. In addition to eligibility and reporting requirements, organizations must be in good standing with the IRS, the California Secretary of State, and the California Department of Justice. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in disqualification from consideration. Faith-based organizations, government agencies, and federally recognized Native American Tribes are exempt from some of these compliance checks. Applicants may access a 20-minute grant writing tips presentation provided by the Foundation, available at their website. The Foundation encourages applicants to save their work frequently during the online application process. Questions may be directed to Kathy Haven via email at kathy@eldoradocf.org. The grant cycle runs annually, and the next round is expected to open again in September 2026.
