American Prosperity: Foreign Investment Readiness Program
This funding opportunity is designed to support Jordanian startups in high-impact sectors by providing training and resources to help them successfully enter U.S. markets and strengthen economic ties between Jordan and the United States.
The American Prosperity: Foreign Investment Readiness Program is a cooperative agreement funding opportunity announced by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA), U.S. Embassy Amman. This initiative is designed to strengthen economic ties between Jordan and the United States by enabling Jordanian entrepreneurial ventures to become investment ready for entry into the U.S. market. The program builds on existing momentum in Jordan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, which has seen growth through local investment, U.S. business partnerships, innovation accelerators, and an expanding base of entrepreneurs. Despite these advances, most ventures remain regionally focused and lack the networks, regulatory knowledge, and investment preparedness to effectively compete in the U.S. This program seeks to address those gaps and promote the United States as Jordan’s preferred partner for entrepreneurship and innovation. The funding opportunity supports a two-phase program aimed at 15 selected Jordanian entrepreneurs from technology and other high-impact sectors, including ICT, Health Innovation, Agri-Tech, and Advanced Manufacturing. Phase one is a ten-week readiness training in Jordan covering U.S. market research, regulatory compliance, tailored pitching, mentorship, and networking with U.S.-based industry experts. This phase culminates in a local pitch competition to select five finalists and alternates for phase two. The second phase is a three-week business promotion tour in the United States, including visits to two or three target states and attendance at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit. Participants will engage with U.S. investors, accelerators, and partners, with the implementing organization responsible for planning events and ensuring alignment with U.S. economic priorities. The program’s goals are to build a pipeline of scalable Jordanian startups ready for U.S. market engagement, expand trade and investment opportunities, and foster partnerships with American businesses. Expected outcomes include increased awareness of U.S. market opportunities, successful completion of readiness training, improved investment pitches, expanded access to U.S. resources, and the establishment of meaningful partnerships. Performance metrics will be measured against a baseline established at program start and tracked through a detailed Monitoring and Evaluation Plan. Funding for the program totals approximately $500,000 under FY25 Smith Mundt Public Diplomacy Funds, with individual awards ranging from $200,000 to $500,000. One award will be made for a project period of 10 to 12 months starting September 30, 2025. The cooperative agreement will involve substantial U.S. Embassy Amman engagement in participant selection, training program review, and target market approval. Cost sharing is required for participant registration at the 2026 SelectUSA Summit ($1,500 for general companies, $755 for tech startups), to be covered directly by participating businesses. Eligible applicants include U.S. and Jordanian not-for-profit organizations, public and private educational institutions, and civil society organizations with demonstrable prior experience in Jordan. All applicants must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and active registration in SAM.gov. Jordanian applicants must comply with the Government of Jordan’s foreign funding approval process. Organizations may submit only one proposal. Proposals must be in English, with budgets in U.S. dollars, and follow specific formatting requirements. Applications must be submitted by email to Ammangrants@state.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. Standard Jordan Time on September 1, 2025. The review process will assess program idea quality, organizational capacity, program planning, budget, monitoring and evaluation plans, sustainability, and cost-sharing commitments. Award notices are expected by October 1, 2025, with semi-annual reporting requirements for funded projects. This opportunity is subject to funding availability and compliance with applicable federal regulations and policies.
