Hospitality Tax Grant

The City of Columbia is accepting applications for the Hospitality Tax Grant for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, which runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. This grant program funds nonprofit organizations that aim to enhance visitor experiences and attract tourists to the City of Columbia. Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 28, 2025, and only completed applications from eligible organizations will be considered. Applicants are encouraged to attend the City Funding for Non-Profit Event Seminar on January 22, 2025, for guidance on the application process and eligibility requirements. The grant is funded by the city’s 2% Hospitality Tax, collected on prepared food and beverages. Eligible projects and events must align with South Carolina State Law (S.C. Code 6-1-730), focusing on tourism-related purposes such as cultural and recreational facilities, advertising, and public services supporting tourism. The program is open to nonprofits registered with the South Carolina Secretary of State's Office that directly benefit Columbia's tourism economy.
