CenterPoint Energy Community Safety Grants 2025

CenterPoint Energy’s Community Safety Grant Program is an initiative designed to support safety-related efforts in communities served by the company. To qualify, the proposed project or equipment must be initiated or sanctioned by a city within the CenterPoint Energy service area. Eligible uses of the grant funds include a wide range of emergency and safety-related items. Examples include thermal imaging cameras, extraction tools, specialized rescue vehicles and equipment, multi-gas and self-contained breathing apparatuses, portable oxygen kits, gas monitors, defibrillators, emergency communication systems, civil defense outdoor warning sirens, and projects aimed at disaster preparedness. The program supports tangible investments that directly enhance public safety in local communities. Certain uses are explicitly excluded from funding eligibility. These include routine or ongoing city budget expenses, law enforcement body cameras, weapons, ammunition, restraints, event sponsorships, and memorials. This ensures that the grants are directed toward new, impactful safety initiatives rather than routine or unrelated expenses. Applications must be submitted through CenterPoint Energy’s online grant application system. While a PDF version of the application form is available for review, it cannot be used for official submission. The application period for the 2025 grant cycle runs from May 1 through May 30.
