Grant Description

The Creative Support Organization Grant is a funding initiative from the New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Creative Industries Division. Designed to strengthen New Mexico’s creative economy, this program provides financial support to organizations that have demonstrated a track record of advancing creative entrepreneurship and industry development statewide. The initiative targets groups that deliver technical assistance, workforce development, incubation services, and broader creative ecosystem support. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, local governments, Nations, Tribes, Pueblos, and for-profit entities operating within New Mexico. The grant supports those that offer programming in areas such as creative business incubation, workforce training, network building, venue logistics, and access to resources for creative entrepreneurs. Priority is given to those with a history of delivering impactful programs aligned with one or more goals of the Creative Industries Division, especially those serving rural and underserved communities, emerging entrepreneurs, and minority creatives. The anticipated maximum award is $62,500 per recipient, and the funds may be used for a wide range of expenses including personnel, program delivery, marketing, materials, photography, and other infrastructure costs that support program delivery. However, the grant may not be used for capital construction, debt reduction, political activity, endowments, or activities conducted outside the state of New Mexico. The application period is open from September 29 through October 24, 2025, closing at 6:00 PM Mountain Time. The review period will occur in November, with processing to take place in December and January. Projects may begin in February 2026 and must be completed by February 2027. All applicants must submit a complete application including organizational background, proposed use of funds, measurable impact metrics, and documentation such as annual reports or brochures. Required reports include a six-month progress check-in, a final report with qualitative and quantitative data, and a post-grant survey. For inquiries or assistance, applicants should consult the full grant guide or contact the Creative Industries Division through the New Mexico Economic Development Department.
