The Community Food Bank offers grants and loans ranging from $100 to $250,000 to support small businesses, nonprofits, and organizations in Southern Arizona working to build a healthy, hunger-free community. These opportunities are designed to broaden the impact of organizations and individuals addressing food security, community health, and social justice.
The Thriving Communities Grant is open to nonprofit, faith, school, and Tribal organizations, as well as collectives and mutual aid groups with operating budgets under $1 million. Grants fund diverse projects, such as infrastructure improvements, training, community organizing, pilot programs, and evaluations. Individual organizations can apply for up to $20,000, while collaborations involving two or more entities can request up to $50,000. Applications are accepted annually from the second Wednesday in October to the second Wednesday in December, closing at 6:00 PM. Resources, including FAQs and application previews, are available in English and Spanish, along with grant-writing workshops.
The Health and Food Entrepreneur Microloan Program, offered in partnership with the Community Investment Corporation, supports entrepreneurs in growing their health or food-related businesses. Loans of up to $10,000 are available with interest rates between 3% and 5%. Applications are accepted year-round.
