This program provides funding to schools and nonprofit organizations in North Central West Virginia to support STEM education initiatives specifically for girls in grades Kโ12.
The S.T.E.M. for Girls Grants program, administered by Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc., is designed to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education among girls in North Central West Virginia. The purpose of this fund is to encourage girls from kindergarten through 12th grade to explore and pursue STEM-related activities, academic pathways, and career opportunities. This grant is open to all traditional public schools and nonprofit organizations, including public libraries, located in Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor Counties. Preference will be given to Title I schools, reflecting the programโs goal of reaching under-resourced student populations. Eligible applicants must propose programs or projects that are exclusively targeted at girls in grades Kโ12. Funded projects may include teacher-led enrichment programs, after-school STEM clubs, support for student attendance at STEM-related events or competitions, and financial assistance to participate in educational STEM activities. Awards of up to $4,000 are available, and projects must be completed within the school year during which the grant is awarded. Applications are accepted between August 4 and September 22, 2025. Funding decisions will be made in November 2025, and all grant funds must be spent by August 2026.
