Peoples Bank Foundation Grant
This grant provides funding to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in specific regions to support programs that assist low- to moderate-income individuals and families in areas such as community development, education, health services, arts, and the environment.
The Peoples Bank Foundation has been making a significant impact across its service communities for over two decades. Established in 2003, the Foundation is committed to fostering lasting change by supporting local programs that assist low- to moderate-income individuals and families. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded $7.5 million in grants and scholarships. The Foundation's grant program is focused on five key areas of giving: Community Investment and Economic Development, Youth and Education, Health and Human Services, Arts and Culture, and Environment. Applications must align with at least one of these focus areas to be considered. Funding is not available for operational costs, including payroll or salaries, and is only provided to organizations that are recognized as 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charities by the IRS. Applications are only accepted from organizations located within the footprint of Peoples Bank, including regions in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, Burlington, Vermont (via North Star Leasing), and Excelsior, Minnesota (via Vantage Financial). Freelancers and third-party grant writers are not permitted to submit applications on behalf of an organization. The Foundation reviews applications on a quarterly basis with submission deadlines on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 1. Applicants must create an organizational account and be prepared to upload several required documents, including a 501(c)(3) determination letter, a one-page project budget, a comprehensive proposal narrative, information on key or board members, and any relevant brochures or publications. For inquiries or support during the application process, applicants are encouraged to reach out to Foundation@pebo.com or call 1.800.374.6123. Once an application is submitted, changes cannot be made, so accuracy is essential. Successful applications typically require two to four hours to complete thoroughly. Recent recipients include Locus in Richmond, Virginia, and Foundation Brite in Milford, Ohio, indicating the Foundation’s ongoing support of regional development and community initiatives.
