RTW Foundation Community Grants 2025
This funding opportunity supports small nonprofit organizations in New York City that are working to improve health access and equity for underserved communities, including people of color and low-income residents.
RTW Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation committed to advancing health equity in New York City. Through its Community Grant Cycle, RTW Foundation builds partnerships with local organizations working to address disparities in health access and quality of care for underserved populations, including communities of color, low-income neighborhoods, recent immigrants, and other marginalized groups. The purpose of the 2025 Community Grant Cycle is to support initiatives that improve health outcomes and equity across the five boroughs of New York City. Eligible projects may include community-based health services, innovative approaches to connect residents with affordable healthcare and insurance options, health equity interventions within health systems, and action-oriented health equity research. The foundation has expanded its grant funding pool by 50 percent in this cycle to further support organizations impacted by changes in access to care. This opportunity is open exclusively to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in New York City's five boroughs. Priority will be given to small, local organizations with annual operating budgets of $5 million or less, though all qualifying nonprofits are encouraged to apply. Returning grantees who have previously completed initiatives funded by RTW Foundation are eligible for larger grants and may receive funding for up to three consecutive years. Interested organizations must submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) by Friday, July 11th, 2025. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application and participate in a site visit. The foundation’s Grant Review Committee will evaluate full applications based on organizational leadership, alignment with RTW Foundation’s mission, project clarity, leadership qualifications, measurable impact, sustainability, and budget clarity. Final funding decisions will be made by the foundation’s Board of Directors. All LOIs must be submitted online by July 11th. For questions regarding eligibility or the application process, applicants are encouraged to contact Sarah Garwood, Director of Community Engagement, at sg@rtwf.org. Applicants invited to the full application stage will receive additional materials, including a required budget template. The 2025 cycle is currently open and accepting applications.
