Mary Ann Klingling Trust Fund

The Mary Ann Klingling Trust Fund is a charitable testamentary trust administered by the Warren County Foundation, dedicated to supporting at-risk and troubled youth residing in Warren County, Ohio. The trust’s origins date back to 1867, when Mary Ann Klingling’s will expressed an intent to fund an orphan asylum for the education and support of children who had lost one or both parents. Though the original Children’s Home was operational through 1967, changes in Ohio law led to a shift in responsibilities to governmental agencies. In 2011, the trust was restructured by court order to continue as a charitable trust with a revised mission: to provide financial assistance to private (non-governmental) entities delivering services to at-risk juveniles in Warren County. The trust now supports programs that provide educational opportunities, basic maintenance, and social services to this vulnerable population. Eligible applicants include only non-governmental organizations serving troubled or at-risk juveniles residing within Warren County, Ohio. Awards may range from $1,000 to $15,000, with awarded funds released in January of the following year. Programming funded by the award must be completed within one year of receipt or within one year of program implementation, whichever is later. The application deadline for the 2026 cycle is October 31, 2025. Award decisions will be announced in December 2025, and funds will be distributed in January 2026. Grantees are required to submit a final report on programming and budget no later than October 31, 2026. The committee overseeing the fund operates under the Warren County Foundation and adheres strictly to the mandates set forth in the revised court order governing the trust.
