Grant Description

The Increased Recycling of Empty Glass Beverage Containers Grant Program for FY 2024-2025, administered by CalRecycle, offers funding for regional pilot programs aimed at enhancing glass recycling efforts. Eligible applicants include local governments, Tribal entities, nonprofit organizations, and private for-profit entities. Projects must involve purchasing collection bins for restaurants and on-sale retail licensed establishments, consolidating collected glass, and transporting it to processing facilities. A total of $4 million is available, with individual grants ranging from $500,000 to $2 million. Applications must be submitted via the Grants Management System (GMS) by December 10, 2024, at 4:00 PM. Required documents, including authorization letters and an Environmentally Preferable Purchasing and Practices (EPPP) Policy, are due by January 7, 2025. Grant awards are expected to be announced in March 2025, and all projects must be completed by April 1, 2027, with final reports and payment requests due on the same date.
