The Gallia Community Foundation, in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), annually offers grants to support nonprofits, schools, and public organizations working to benefit residents and communities in Gallia County, Ohio. This grant opportunity is designed to foster development and provide resources for projects that create meaningful local impact.
The 2025 grant application window is open from Tuesday, April 29, through Tuesday, June 10. Grant awards will support initiatives in five key funding areas: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. The program emphasizes support for individuals and groups of all ages who are leading efforts to address critical needs, enhance local opportunities, and realize the untapped potential of Gallia County communities.
Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000. However, proposals requesting larger funding amounts will be considered if the anticipated impact justifies the additional investment. Applications are reviewed for their ability to address community needs effectively and sustainably.
To apply, all interested applicants must register through FAO’s new online system, the Foundation Cloud Community Portal. If applicants have already registered or applied for any funding through this system since fall 2024, they may use their existing accounts. After registration, applicants must navigate to the “Grant Application” tab and choose “Available Grants” to access and complete the application form.
Applicants with questions can consult the Frequently Asked Questions section provided by FAO or directly reach out to the organization for assistance. The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is located at 35 Public Square, Nelsonville, OH 45764, and can be contacted by phone at 740-753-1111 or via email at info@ffao.org.
