Texas Mutual Insurance Company is a privately operated, state-chartered workers’ compensation insurance provider that has supported Texas businesses and working families for over 25 years. The company administers workers’ compensation coverage across the state and is actively involved in initiatives that bolster community strength, worker safety, and long-term economic resilience. The 2025 Workforce Development and Safety Training RFP represents Texas Mutual’s second grant cycle under its annual $8 million community funding initiative. This specific grant cycle is designed to support organizations that are addressing critical workforce and safety challenges in Texas. The primary aim is to fortify the state’s economic stability by investing in programs that prepare and protect Texas workers, particularly in high-risk occupations and middle-skill sectors where labor shortages and safety risks are prevalent. Key objectives for this grant include training the current and future workforce in safe workplace practices, especially for industries with higher incidences of injury or risk. Additionally, the grant supports the development of strong, structured career pathways leading to middle-skill jobs—those that require education beyond high school but less than a four-year degree. The program also prioritizes adult learners, particularly those participating in earn-and-learn models that combine on-the-job training with formal instruction to improve skills and employability. Applications for this cycle will be accepted beginning at 8:00 a.m. CDT on Monday, August 11, and will close at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Friday, September 12.
