The Capital Improvement Grant offered by Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) is designed to support nonprofit organizations that serve the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. FCP is a private foundation that accepts applications exclusively through its online FOUNDANT platform and maintains strict eligibility and reporting standards consistent with IRS nonprofit classification and the Council on Foundations’ due diligence guidelines.
Capital Improvement Grants can provide up to $15,000 per award to support infrastructure-related projects such as structural improvements, extensive facility renovations, installation of durable equipment, and upgrades to IT infrastructure. These grants are intended to enhance the operational capacity and service environment of qualifying nonprofits in Bucks County. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how the proposed project aligns with the “Community Mental Health” concept and provide specific, measurable goals and expected outcomes at the conclusion of the grant period.
The application process for this grant follows a two-stage system: a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) and, upon approval, a full application. The grant cycle is offered twice per year. For the spring cycle, the LOI deadline is April 1 and the full application (if invited) is due by April 15. For the fall cycle, the LOI deadline is October 1 and the full application is due by October 15. First-time applicants must participate in an introductory meeting before proceeding with the LOI. Following submission, FCP may schedule a site visit and will review GuideStar verification, independent audits, and financials before application approval.
Applicants are required to submit a detailed project budget and demonstrate how the requested funds will be used. There are no restrictions on fund allocation between capital, programmatic, or personnel categories. Successful applicants must submit a 12-month final report detailing the project’s outcomes and its impact on Bucks County residents. Reapplication for the same grant type is permitted only after 12 months.
FCP prioritizes complete and mission-aligned applications. Incomplete, late, or misaligned applications will not be considered. Additional guidance for writing strong grant proposals and navigating due diligence can be accessed via the Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia and the Council on Foundations. For support during the application process, applicants may contact FCP via email at info@fcpartnership.org or by phone at (267) 247-5584.
