The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) has announced the Fiscal Year 2025 Justice for Families Program, a grant opportunity aimed at improving civil and criminal justice system responses to families with a history of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or child sexual abuse. The program focuses on enhancing the capacity of courts and communities to provide effective, safe, and informed responses in these cases. Eligible projects may include court-based and court-related programs, supervised visitation and safe exchange services, training for court personnel, and the provision of civil legal assistance to victims.
The program expects to fund approximately 20 awards, with individual awards ranging between $600,000 and $700,000. The total program funding is estimated at $14 million. There is no cost-sharing or matching requirement, making the program accessible to a broad range of applicants.
Eligible applicants include state and local governments, federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations, courts (including juvenile courts), victim service providers, nonprofit organizations, and legal service providers. Applicants must demonstrate capacity and experience in providing services or administering programs that address the complexities of family violence cases.
