City of Thousand Oaks Community Development Block Grant 2025-2026
This funding is available to nonprofits and community organizations in Thousand Oaks to support projects that assist low-income individuals and households through housing improvements and essential services.
The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking community input and applications for its 2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. This annual funding, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), is dedicated to addressing the needs of low-income individuals and households in Thousand Oaks. Between November 21, 2024, and January 15, 2025, the City invites residents, nonprofits, and community stakeholders to help identify unmet needs that could be addressed through CDBG funding or other federal resources. The City estimates a CDBG allocation of $623,000 for the fiscal year running from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. A portion of this funding is available for community development projects, with up to 15% specifically allocated for public service activities. Nonprofit organizations that provide housing, community development services, or public support for low-income individuals are encouraged to apply. Eligible activities include housing rehabilitation, community facility improvements, and services for vulnerable populations. To gather public input, the City will host a Needs Assessment Public Hearing on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the Boardroom at City Hall (2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd, 3rd Floor). This hearing will provide a forum for discussing the needs of the community and offering guidance to potential grant applicants. The meeting agenda, including teleconference participation options, will be available at least 72 hours before the hearing. Applications for the CDBG Program can be found in the "2025-26 CDBG Documents" section on the program's webpage. Nonprofits and community organizations addressing the needs of low-income residents are encouraged to review the materials and submit proposals that align with the program’s goals. This is a valuable opportunity for organizations to secure funding for impactful projects that support the community.
