The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $3M in Title I Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Statewide Activities funding available under the Apprenticeship Expansion Grant (AEG-4) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of this RFA is to expand New York State (NYS) Registered Apprenticeship (RA) training by increasing employment opportunities for approximately 130 apprentices, with a focus on underrepresented populations. These apprentices will enter trades in high-demand occupations, with a focus on the emerging fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Information Technology, as well as other in-demand occupations. The SFY 2025 Police Accountability Community and Transparency (PACT) Grant Program, funded by the State of Maryland and managed by the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy, aims to support law enforcement in developing effective accountability procedures to enhance lawfulness, legitimacy, and community relations. This initiative seeks to implement criminal justice reform measures, foster new community-law enforcement partnerships, provide relevant training, and introduce technology to build trust and transparency. The program encourages the adoption of best practices in law enforcement to improve public safety across Maryland. Examples include the replacement of cardboard boxes with reusable hand-held plastic totes or crates and switching to reusable pallet wraps instead of using disposable plastic film used to secure loads onto pallets. Convert from single-use to reusable food service ware at schools, food service businesses, or institutional cafeterias (e.g., dishwashers, electrical, plumbing, minor kitchen modifications and/or reusable dishware). Note: Purchase of food service ware for establishing a new program/new construction is excluded. Install bulk dispensing systems in commercial, retail and/or hospitality settings for food, beverages, personal care products (soap, shampoo, lotion), or cleaning products. Projects must replace single-use packaging. Develop or expand programs to repair used furniture, appliances, electronics, bicycles, or durable household goods for resale or distribution. The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $2 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) funding available under the Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Programs (DEPA) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of the RFA is to: 1. Provide funding for DEPA programs to support approximately 300 participants; and2. Support entry into NYS Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs for underrepresented populations including women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.NYSDOL is particularly interested in supporting DEPA programs that provide participants with training and exposure to various trades and offer opportunities for entry into RA training programs. The SFCTP is intended to ensure adequate community support following the closure of commonwealth facilities in directly impacted and contiguous counties.

The Volunteer Firefighter Pension Fund Program supports local governments in offering retirement benefits to attract volunteer firefighters. Eligible entities include municipalities with populations under 100,000, fire protection districts, county improvement districts with volunteer fire department members, and counties contributing to a volunteer pension fund. These entities must have active, pension-eligible volunteer firefighters and have contributed tax revenue to the pension fund in the previous year. The program provides a state match for contributions from eligible entities, which is determined based on a statutory calculation. Applications are accepted annually from September 1 to October 31. The program also includes Accidental Death and Disability Insurance for all volunteer firefighters in Colorado, covering on-duty activities and travel to and from events. Grant renewed every year.
