The Idaho Water Resource Board (IWRB) was allocated $75,000,000 by the Idaho legislature in 2022 for grants to address water sustainability, improve aging water infrastructure, or support flood management. These grants are for new projects or phases aimed at repairing, maintaining, replacing, or improving infrastructure that supports irrigation water delivery, storage, drainage, treatment, and use of water for irrigation. Municipal drinking or wastewater systems are excluded. The process includes proposal submission, review, and IWRB approval. Applications are due by August 2, 2024. Grant renewed every year.

The Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside program (TA), funded by the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through the Surface Development Block Grant, is administered by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This program is dedicated to funding smaller-scale transportation projects that enhance nonmotorized travel options and safety. Eligible projects include on- and off-road bicycle and pedestrian facilities, recreational trails, safe routes for non-drivers, safe routes to schools, and ADA compliance improvements. The Edwards Aquifer Authority's 2024 Groundwater Conservation Grant Program supports agricultural irrigation efficiency improvements within its jurisdiction, encompassing over 8,000 square miles across eight Texas counties. This initiative aims to incentivize the adoption of water-saving practices among Edwards Aquifer permit holders, enhancing groundwater conservation efforts. Qualified projects that demonstrate potential groundwater savings are eligible for funding. The BNR Program provides funds to publicly owned wastewater treatment plants for retrofitting or upgrading to include biological nitrification/denitrification facilities, aiming for an effluent concentration goal of 8 mg/l total nitrogen. The program encourages upgrades alongside Enhanced Nutrient Removal, funded by the Bay Restoration Fund grant. The Biological Nutrient Program (BNR) funds are targeted to publicly owned wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and provides funds to retrofit or upgrade WWTPs with biological nitrification/denitrification facilities to achieve a goal of annual average effluent concentration of 8 mg/l total nitrogen. The BNR upgrade is generally undertaken along with Enhanced Nutrient Removal upgrade using Bay Restoration Fund grant funding

The grants can be used to enhance environmental and conservation-related learning as well as to provide outdoor learning spaces for students. Eligibility: Schools with an overall financial need that teach environmental or conservation-related programming or have a need for an outdoor classroom are eligible to apply. A school is considered to have a financial need if 50 percent or more of its full-time students receive free or reduced-price lunches, or if it is a Title I school. Other Information: The grant application cycle opens on October 7, 2024, and closes on November 1, 2024. Applicants must indicate the specific intended use of the grant money and estimate how many students will be affected. All applications will be reviewed by the Alabama Power Foundation for adherence to the Students to Stewards guidelines. Grants may also be used for alternative learning locations during COVID-19 to ensure student safety through social distancing measures.

USAID seeks information on how higher education institutions can address water, climate, and gender development challenges in Pakistan. The information could inform the scope of future USAID awards to U.S. universities. Responses to this Request for Information will inform the design of a potential $1.5 million Water, Climate, and Gender Activity (WCGA), subject to the availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal or application. American and Pakistani higher education institutions have the potential to be central actors in advancing Pakistan’s climate resilience and gender equity. LIHEAP provides energy assistance to households in Washington through a network of community action agencies and local partners. These local organizations will help determine your eligibility and how much assistance you might receive. If you qualify, your local LIHEAP agency will send a payment directly to your energy utility on behalf of your household. LIHEAP primarily assists households by making an energy assistance grant directly to the energy provider on behalf of the eligible household. LIHEAP may also help repair or replace an unsafe, dysfunctional, and inoperative heating or cooling system in some situations. Households eligible for LIHEAP may also qualify to have their homes made more energy efficient through the Weatherization Program. The amount of money awarded to your household will depend on multiple factors. For example, each household’s size, income and annual heat cost will affect the amount of their LIHEAP grant. You’ll have to schedule a LIHEAP appointment with the provider in your community to find out how much you could receive.

The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) makes funds available to drinking water systems to pay for infrastructure improvements. This program is funded through federal and state money and subject to state laws and additional federal regulations. The program provides: Low-interest construction loans to publicly (municipal) and privately owned drinking water systems. These loans cover capital improvements that increase public health and compliance with drinking water regulations. Construction loan repayments can range from 20 to 30 years. In some cases, partial loan forgiveness is offered. Planning and engineering loans to cover preconstruction work and activities such as water system plans, engineering designs, and cultural reviews. Consolidation Feasibility Study grants allow larger Group A community water systems such as cities, town, counties, public utility districts, and water districts to determine feasibility and capital improvements needed to consolidate smaller or struggling water systems into their service area.

TEAP provides state matching funds to directly support tire recycling, tire derived product use, tire reuse research and development, or processing facility improvements. In 2015, the Tennessee Automotive Association partnered with TDEC and the General Assembly to enact Public Chapter 525 that established the Tire Environmental Fund. Upon the first retail sale of a new motor vehicle that is to be titled and registered in Tennessee, a flat fee based on the number of the vehicle’s wheels is assessed. The fee goes into the Tire Environmental Fund which is used to fund projects creating or supporting beneficial end uses for waste tires.
