The Paint Oklahoma Beautiful is a Keep Oklahoma Beautiful program designed to encourage organizations and volunteers to seek out unsightly buildings in their community and renovate them with the creative use of resources. Eligibility Criteria Submissions to the Paint Oklahoma Beautiful program are only accepted from groups/organizations who are located in Oklahoma. To be accepted into this program, organizations/groups must successfully submit a project application, “Permission to Paint”, to Keep Oklahoma Beautiful during the application period (June 1 – July 31). To be entered into the “Communities Primed for Change” contest, participants must have used ONLY the paint provided to them in the program and completed the structure included in their application. The City of Fredericksburg’s Historic Preservation Grant application for the 2023-24 fiscal year is now available to Historic District landowners or owners of Historic Landmarks in the City. The organization has full-time professional management and/or cultural/artistic staff. This service may be in-kind of volunteer in nature. The organization presents a full season of performances/exhibitions or other year-round programming (including general admission where applicable). The organization is ADA compliant. If the organization operates its own facility, that facility is ADA compliant. If the organization utilizes other venues/facilities, they only use ADA compliant facilities. Funding Limitations and Uses Cultural funding grant money funds operations. Operational spending includes categories like salaries, office rent, utility payments, general website upkeep, and so on. The maximum amount of funding you can request is based on how much your organization spent (your expenses) during your most recently completed fiscal year. In-kind services, like donated items, volunteer hours, free rent, etc., cannot count toward that total. If your organization’s actual expenses were $500,000 or more, you are considered a “Large” organization, and the maximum you can request is 8% of your expenses, or up to $75,000. If your organization’s actual expenses were between $250,000 and $499,999, you are considered a “Medium” organization, and the maximum you can request is 10% of your actual expenses. This $1.5 million initiative aims to spur growth in the careers of culture workers who have experienced historical trends of disadvantage, underrepresentation, and oppression due to their race. The initiative offers funding, professional development, and social networking opportunities to culture workers of color to those trends and help culture workers of color advance their careers. The initiative will distribute 74 unrestricted awards of $15,000 each.
