Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Joint Office of Energy and Transportation: Communities Taking Charge Accelerator, Fiscal Year 2024 Funding Opportunity AnnouncementThis Funding Opportunity Announcement aims to help everyone ride and drive electric, foster public and private relationships, build interdisciplinary teams, advance the American blueprint for transportation decarbonization, and promote managed charging. The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office), through the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), is issuing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) entitled “Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) – Joint Office of Energy and Transportation: Communities Taking Charge Accelerator, Fiscal Year 2024 Funding Opportunity Announcement”. Awards made under this FOA will be funded, in whole or in part, with funds appropriated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act1, more commonly known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The BIL is a once-in-a-generation investment in modernizing and upgrading American infrastructure to enhance U.S. competitiveness, driving the creation of good-paying union jobs, tackling the climate crisis, and securing environmental justice and economic opportunity for disadvantaged communities2. The BIL appropriates more than $62 billion to the Department of Energy (DOE)3 to invest in American manufacturing and workers; expand access to energy efficiency and clean energy; deliver reliable, clean, and affordable power to more Americans; and demonstrate and deploy the clean-energy technologies of tomorrow through clean energy demonstrations. DOE’s BIL investments will support efforts to build a clean and equitable energy economy that achieves a zero-carbon electricity system by 2035, and to put the United States on a path to achieve net-zero emissions economy-wide by no later than 20504 to benefit all Americans. The BIL includes a historic $7.5 billion dedicated investment to build out a national network of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers. As part of this investment, the BIL includes $300 million to establish a Joint Office of Energy and Transportation to study, plan, coordinate, and implement issues of joint concern between the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The Communities Taking Charge Accelerator FOA and related activities align with the Joint Office mission to provide a modernized and interagency approach to support the deployment of zeroemission, convenient, accessible, and equitable transportation infrastructure. The activities to be funded under this FOA support BIL section Title VIII, Division J, Federal Highway Administration - Highway Infrastructure Program.

The COPS Office is pleased to announce that it is seeking applications for funding for the FY24 Community Policing Development Microgrants program. CPD Microgrants funding will provide grants to local, state, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies to implement demonstration or pilot projects that offer creative ideas to advance crime fighting, community engagement, problem solving, or organizational changes in support of community policing.

The U.S. Department of State;apos;s Public Diplomacy Section in New Delhi invites proposals from eligible non-profit, non-governmental organizations to develop and implement public diplomacy programs in collaboration with the Nexus Start-up Hub at the American Center in New Delhi. This initiative aims to address the growing interest among Indian business sectors in adopting U.S. entrepreneurial skills and values, thereby fostering cultural and economic ties between the two nations.By leveraging the Nexus platform and the expertise of American Center New Delhi, this project aims to equip emerging Indian business leaders with the necessary skills to engage with Indo-Pacific investors and partners, particularly from the United States. Through these efforts, we seek to further strengthen bilateral relations while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in India.The project;apos;s one-year timeline will focus on expanding Nexus;apos;s reach to a broader and more diverse audience, aligning with the Public Diplomacy Section;apos;s objectives. This expansion will involve offering knowledge and training in state-of-the-art American incubator management to India;apos;s extensive network of over 1,000 incubators. The purpose of this 3-year NOFO is to fund up to 6 applicants to increase awareness related to a single proposed chronic disease for public health practitioners, healthcare providers, patients, and the public. Recipients will focus on conducting data dissemination and educational activities to increase and expand awareness about that proposed chronic condition to support effective, evidenced-based clinical and population-level approaches. 2020, Congress recognized CDC’s work with stakeholders to expand public health education and awareness activities that help improve surveillance, diagnosis, and proper treatment for chronic diseases. Congress charged CDC with establishing a new competitive grant program to expand and advance work with stakeholders on education, outreach, and public awareness activities for a variety of chronic diseases for which there is a clear disparity in public and professional awareness and that are not currently funded through a direct FY21 CDC appropriations line. This approach would strengthen the science base for prevention, education, and public health awareness for a variety of chronic diseases that do not currently have dedicated resources that would lead to meaningful patient outcomes. This 3 year competitive grant will complement or fill gaps in CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion’s (NCCDPHP) current priorities by supporting recipients for the following activities: 1) Data dissemination activities that support awareness for public health professionals; 2) Develop data collection tools to fill surveillance gaps; 3) Educational activities supporting public awareness; and 4) Educational activities supporting health professional screening, referral, and/or management. Collecting and disseminating reliable information on the impacts of chronic diseases (including social, behavioral, environmental, and quality of life aspects) is necessary to shape effective evidence-based clinical and population-level approaches for public health impact and health equity.

Purpose of PAS Public Diplomacy Grants: The Public Affairs Sections of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil invites proposals for programs that strengthen ties between the United States and Brazil through cultural, arts, educational, media, information, and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. The bilateral nature of proposals is especially important during calendar year 2024, the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and the United States. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert(s), organization(s), or institutions in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policies, values, and perspectives as well as incorporate a cross-cutting approach to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).
