PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The U.S. Embassy Budapest Public Diplomacy Section (PDS Budapest) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Purpose of Small Grants: PDS Budapest invites proposals for programs that strengthen ties between the U.S. and Hungary through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. Examples of PDS Small Grants Program programs include, but are not limited to:Academic and professional lectures, seminars and speaker programs;Artistic and cultural workshops, joint performances and exhibitions;Cultural heritage conservation and preservation programs;Professional and academic exchanges and programs; Priority Program Areas in 2024:a) Promoting rule of law and democratic governance by supporting legal and institutional changes which strengthen the rule of law and expose and combat corruptionb) Strengthen respect for international human rights and those democratic values, support marginalized groupsc) Strengthening independent media and journalism and helping to foster critical thinkingd) Promoting unity among NATO allies and a united response to the Russian war on Ukrainee) Supporting Hungarys Transatlantic commitment by addressing transnational threats, including disinformationf) Increasing awareness of Americas role as an economic partner to Hungary Participants and Audiences:We seek proposals for geographically and demographically diverse audiences within Hungary. As noted above, all projects must include an American component in order to be eligible for funding. An American component can mean any of the following: An American citizen who is an expert, speaker, artist, athlete, or other visitor to Hungary who will lead or present some key component of the project. In rare cases, the project could involve an extraordinarily highly accomplished person who is not an American citizen, but who has strong ties to an American institution of major importance.The use of an American cultural product as a major touchstone for key elements of the program. Cultural products could include books, music, curricula, films, dance, other art forms, or technology created entirely or primarily by American artists and innovators and clearly associated with American culture.Engaging audiences in learning about or practicing a major American topic, such as U.S. policy, U.S. history, American values (such as civil rights, freedom of expression, or shared society), or American social models (such as democracy or the rule of law) as a significant focus of the program. The following types of programs are not eligible for funding:Programs relating to partisan political activity;Charitable or development activities;Construction programs;Programs that support specific religious activities;Fund-raising campaigns;Lobbying for specific legislation or programs;Scientific research;Programs intended primarily for the growth of an individual;Programs intended primarily for the growth or institutional development ofthe organization; orPrograms that duplicate existing programs.

This grant provides funding to the International Labor Organization to combat child labor, forced labor, and improve working conditions in key supply chains across Brazil and other Latin American and Caribbean countries.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to Verite, Inc. to enhance fair labor practices and improve working conditions in the coffee industry, specifically targeting the eradication of child and forced labor in supply chains.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) invites interested Nigerian entities to participate in a pre-application conference for integrated Delivery of TB Services (iDOTS) Activity to be held on July 30, 2024 in Abuja. The purpose of the USAID/Nigeria integrated Delivery of TB Services (iDOTS) Activity is to reach every person with TB, cure those in need of treatment, prevent new infections and progression to active disease, while scaling-up innovations in detection, care, and treatment, and fostering local ownership to sustain TB programs that contribute to integrated primary health care services and pandemic preparedness in supported states.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to operate and expand the OJJDP National Mentoring Resource Center, which will provide comprehensive mentoring resources, references, tools, and training materials and advance the implementation of evidence and research-based mentoring practices. The goal of the National Mentoring Resource Center is to enhance the capacity of mentoring organizations to develop, implement, and expand effective mentoring practices. This program furthers the DOJs mission to uphold the rule of law, to keep our country safe, and to protect civil rights.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide training and technical assistance (TTA) to enhance the national AMBER Alert network; increase and improve law enforcement response to missing, endangered, and abducted children; increase the recovery rate of abducted children; enhance public participation in the recovery of missing, endangered, and abducted children; and continue support of this work in Indian country while implementing the Ashlynne Mike AMBER Alert in Indian Country Act of 2018.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide training and technical assistance to Second Chance Act Youth Reentry grantees and practitioners to improve community supervision practices, produce better outcomes for youth and communities, reduce recidivism, improve public safety, and enhance jurisdictions access to the tools and training to adequately identify, as well as effectively serve, these youths needs. A multidisciplinary team of experts in implementation science, community supervision, adolescent development, trauma-informed care, data analysis, and performance measurement will help the selected jurisdictions improve their community supervision and reentry programs, policies, and practices.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide training and technical assistance to enhance state and local youth defense delivery systems. This program furthers the DOJs mission to reduce violent crime by supporting states and localities in their efforts to address barriers and gaps within their juvenile justice systems for indigent youth.

Project Objectives: SH funds are meant for activities that are community driven and serve the community at large where they are being funded. The most successful project proposals will target health, education, and development challenges and will: Demonstrate a clear, ongoing benefit to the local community; Include a significant contribution from the community in the form of labor, land, materials, or money; Be within the local communitys ability to manage and maintain on a sustainable basis; Have a net-positive impact on the local environment; Respect human rights, including disability rights and gender equality. Below is a sample list of the types of projects the Department will consider funding: Small construction projects (less than 10,000 sq. ft.) school rooms, community centers, health facilities, foot bridges, housing for a government or community-paid nurse or teacher, workshops, community abattoir, grain storage, rural airstrip for a hospital, and school dormitory for distant students. Water-related projects wells, latrines, pumps, bore holes, shower stalls and sinks and fishponds. School equipment and supplies desks, chairs, laboratory equipment and library items. Communal construction equipment such as a brick-making machine. Income generating equipment weaving looms, tools for furniture making, rice-milling machine. (Must be maintainable by local community). Funds may not be used for: Operating or recurring costs (salaries, rent, administrative or maintenance costs, fuel); Individual travel expenses (lodging, transportation, food, fuel); Religious, police, law enforcement, prison, or military activities; Projects that are inherently political in nature or that contain the appearance of partisanship or support to an individual or party in electoral campaigns; The purchase, operation, or maintenance of vehicles; Activities with negative environmental consequences; Activities which benefit any US government employee.

Through this Project, USAID/Malawi aims to create new partnerships with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) in efforts to amplify the Missions work in support of higher education. USAID expects MSIs to lead the development of the Concept Papers response in collaboration and partnership with relevant Malawi university and non-university tertiary institutions, the private sector, and organizations with capacity to technically offer training for a cadre of students described in Section A of the RFA. The Missions drive in seeking New Partnerships Initiatives (NPIs) and in support of partner countries progress to self-reliance, achieve sustainable and resilient results, and catalyze more effective partnering for impact shall entail that the lead MSI is a prime for the first two years, where focus is on building cooperative agreement grant administrative, financial and reporting compliance in lead local sub-partner, who will graduate into a prime Contractor in Year 3 of the project implementation.Based on the submitted Concept Paper, USAID/Malawi will invite selected applicants with Concept Papers meeting minimum criteria under this funding opportunity to participate in a co-creation workshop. Following the co-creation, selected finalists will further be requested to submit full applications. To be competitive under this funding opportunity, Concept Papers and applications must be fully responsive to all directions under the funding opportunity except when specifically noted otherwise.

With this solicitation, NIJ, in partnership with CDC, seeks to provide funding for a sub-study that incorporates measures of delinquency and victimization at five sites of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

The Secretary of Veterans Affairs will make grants available to eligible organizations for the provision of transition assistance. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are separated, retired, or discharged, as well as their spouses, will benefit from receiving the services provided. Each year approximately 200,000 Service members are separated from the military. Veterans and dependents report significant challenges when transitioning from military to civilian life. These grants will be awarded to eligible organizations that provide employment-based resources and tools, to help these Veterans and spouses overcome employment and financial challenges. In accordance with P.L. 116-315, 4304, VA seeks to award grants to organizations that provide multiple forms of the following services: resume assistance, interview training, job recruitment training, and related services, or are located in states with a high rate of unemployment among Veterans, a high rate of usage of unemployment benefits for recently separated members of the Armed Forces, or a labor force or economy that has been significantly impacted by a covered public health emergency.

With this solicitation, NIJ seeks applications to support the operations of the Committee on Law and Justice of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and its work to develop knowledge to inform public policy interventions that: support the fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans, restore trust in the Justice System, and support the reduction of crime and recidivism.

This agreement represents an opportunity for research into mitigation strategies for embankment and floodwall overtopping breach. To accomplish this, the following is anticipated:1. Assess factors that may lead to overtopping breach and relevant failure mechanisms for the different embankment and floodwall designs that are common to the USACE inventory. Assess the current state of practice for numerical modeling used for performance predictions of levees and floodwalls with regards to overtopping breach. Collect case histories of overtopping events for use in analytical or numerical assessment of embankment and floodwall performance when overtopping occurs.2. Identify the current state of practice for mitigating overtopping of flood control levees and floodwalls, including USACE and international approaches. Identify potential emerging technologies that could be used to mitigate overtopping breach of flood control embankments and floodwalls.3. Perform laboratory investigations to quantify potential improvement of embankment and floodwall foundation soils during overtopping. Saturated and unsaturated soil mechanics approaches could be explored when appropriate.4. Investigate and develop numerical methodologies to improve current numerical performance predictions. Identify advanced approaches and define when these might improve performance predictions. Identify uncertainty in standard and advanced numerical approaches.5. Perform physical testing to assess different mitigation strategies for overtopping performance of the different mitigation strategies. Provide quantifiable design recommendation based on these tests as well as data for the validation of numerical models.

With this solicitation, NIJ seeks to support two (2) American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) Fellows at NIJ. The AAAS STPF Fellow, as mutually agreed, will be assigned responsibilities across NIJs science offices depending on the interests of the science offices and the interests of the Fellows. Regardless of placement, the Fellows will have the opportunity to work across offices. The Fellows will have opportunities to engage in a range of science (including social and behavioral science), technology, engineering, and mathematics research development and evaluation projects.

The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabats Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce the availability of funding through the Alumni Small Grants Program. This opportunity is tailored to alumni of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored (USG) exchanged programs and seeks projects aimed at enhancing the connections between the United States and Turkmenistan through innovative cultural and professional initiatives that emphasize shared values and promote bilateral cooperation. Projects are expected to: - Take place in Turkmenistan including in the American Corners in Dashoguz, Mary and Turkmenabat and American Center in Ashgabat. - Incorporate cultural elements or draw from the applicants U.S. exchange experience in a specific field. - Foster increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. Project Goal: Strengthen the capacity of USG alumni, particularly youth from underserved communities in Turkmenistan to participate in economic, educational, and community service activities that emphasize shared values and bilateral cooperation by leveraging USG exchange alumni experience. Project Audience(s): Audiences may include students (at secondary and university levels), women and girls, journalists, media professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, and various underserved or vulnerable populations. Grantees are also encouraged to host programming and take advantage of existing resources at American Center in Ashgabat and American Corners in Dashoguz, Mary and Turkmenabat. Project Objectives: (Project proposals may address one or more of these objectives, or other objectives within the above policy priorities. NOTE: These are example objectives PDS will also consider projects with different objectives targets that support the above project expectations.) Objective 1: Increase alumni engagement through tailored capacity building trainings to support and strengthen the U.S.-Turkmenistan Alumni Association (USTAA). Objective 2: Equip youth from rural and underserved communities with knowledge and skills related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Objective 3: Increase English language proficiency skills of youth and young adults from (at secondary and university levels) from Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Mary and Lebap regions or young professionals of specific fields (for example tourism, sports, medicine, STEM) through training and interactive activities (grammar lessons, conversation practice, etc.). Sub-objective 3.1. Increase English language instruction capacity (professional development for English language teachers through teacher trainings activities. Objective 4. Build organizational capacity of civil society organizations to improve institutional accountability, transparency, and support for local communities across Turkmenistan. Objective 5: Equip young adults with media literacy skills to recognize, analyze, and counteract mis/disinformation across various digital media platforms. Objective 6: Increase awareness and willingness of participants to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives through community dialogues or workshops on climate change and environmental sustainability. Objective 7: Equip women, youth and/or residents of remote regions with business and entrepreneurship skills, such as financial literacy, risk management, marketing, and sales, through practical and hands-on training, mentorship, and internship opportunities. Objective 8: Increase the number of advocacy initiatives aimed at advancing the rights for people with disabilities by raising awareness, promoting inclusive policies, and engaging government stakeholders. Objective 9: Increase participation of women and youth from vulnerable and marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, in economic empowerment and civic engagement activities. Applicants are encouraged to choose one or more project objectives listed above, or suggest their own project objectives, identify indicators that track success towards progress made towards objectives, and develop their own Monitoring and Evaluation (M) plans. Alumni grant proposals must support projects that address a tangible need in a community and have measurable outcomes. Applicants should be encouraged to develop partnerships with the public/private sector as well as local organizations, where applicable. The FY 2023–2024 Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) Program aims to enhance the safety and mobility of people and goods by funding projects that improve highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossings. These projects reduce risks associated with railroad operations, decrease delays caused by blocked crossings, and improve overall infrastructure, particularly for underserved communities. Eligible projects include grade separations, track relocation, protective device installations, and other measures that directly enhance safety at crossings. The program also supports planning, environmental studies, and final design efforts. Applicants eligible for this program include state and local governments, federally recognized tribes, and public port authorities. Applications must be submitted by September 23, 2024, and will be reviewed based on their contribution to safety, equity, sustainability, and workforce development. Up to $1,148,809,580 in funding is available, sourced from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Dear Potential Applicant/Offeror, USAID/Mozambique intends to design a new HIV Activity - SUstaining Control the HIV Epidemic through quality Services, resilient Systems, and Community Outreach (SUCESSO) - that will support and contribute to the Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) to reach and sustain HIV epidemic control in four provinces - Sofala, Manica, Tete and Niassa. This is anticipated to be a five (5) year award(s) - 2026 - 2031, with a total value of up to $155 million. The purpose of this communication is to obtain industry comment and input on the above-mentioned program. More specifically, the RFI intends to: Assess the interest of potential organizations in submitting applications/proposals for the new Activity - SUCESSO. Gain technical and organizational insights in the capacity of potential organizations. Explore innovative approaches to partnering with organizations working in the same area; and Collect inputs to contribute to the improvement of the proposed Program Description (PD)/Statement of Work (SOW).

The activity seeks to achieve improved TB and HIV/AIDS client outcomes through supporting community-led monitoring activities that will lead to improvements in health service quality. This activity will bolster community leadership, support robust community health sector engagement and increase community participation inhealth system decision-making. Specifically, the activity will: (1) enhance the functionality and coordination of networks of community-led and community-based organizations engaged in the TB and HIV response; (2) strengthen existing platforms to collect and analyze data to inform TB and HIV programming; and (3) bolster the capacity of community-based organizations to carry out data-driven advocacy at the national and local levels.

The purpose of the Activity is to increase safe, sustainable, climate resilient and inclusive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services in communities, schools, and healthcare centers. Approach. An integrated and participatory approach is envisioned to engage with the key stakeholders, especially the Borno state government and targeted beneficiaries. The key part of this approach is based on the co-creation to design, implement, and oversee innovative, impactful, and locally driven development with some degree of shared power and decision-making. Geographic Focus. The activity will be implemented mainly in Maiduguri Local Government Area in Borno State. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES The goal of the activity is to improve WASH access and address the sustainability challenges. The objectives are as follows: Increase access to equitable, safe, climate resilient, and affordable drinking water services in the selected communities. Strengthen WASH services in schools and healthcare centers with a focus on climate resilience, sustainability, gender responsiveness, and handicapped accessibility. Institutional strengthening, capacity building and adopting appropriate service delivery model for sustainability with focus on post-completion operation and maintenance and private sector participation.
