Nature crimes, criminal forms of logging, mining, wildlife trade, land conversion, and associated criminal activities, as well as crimes associated with fishing, pose serious threats to the environment and to national security. They undermine the rule of law and fuel corruption. They also spread disease globally, drive species to the brink of extinction, and rob governments, indigenous peoples, and local communities of their natural resources and legitimate revenue. The goal of this program is to increase global grassroot civil society engagement in addressing nature crimes. With this solicitation, BJA seeks a training and technical assistance (TTA) provider to help jurisdictions prevent and reduce overdose deaths as part of the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP). COSSUP provides funding and TTA to state, local, and tribal governments to develop, implement, or expand comprehensive programs in response to the overdose crisis and impacts of illicit opioids, stimulants, or other substances. This COSSUP Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) TTA Program provides training and supports collaborations that prevent and reduce overdose deaths. This program helps jurisdictions build and enhance multidisciplinary collaborations, collect and use multisector data, and conduct confidential individual death reviews in order to identify trends, incidents, and gaps in prevention efforts and services to inform innovative, community-specific overdose prevention and intervention strategies.

With this solicitation, BJS seeks to administer the Bureau of Justice Statistics Statistical Support Program (BJS-SSP). The primary aim of the BJS-SSP is to provide statistical and methodological support for existing and new data collections. BJS collects, analyzes, publishes, and disseminates information on policing, prosecution, courts, institutional corrections, community supervision, and victimization. The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for an evaluation project that contributes to building a portfolio of evidence regarding inclusive human rights in Ukraine. In support of this goal, DRL seeks to promote the use of sound data and generate findings on what works, for whom, and why in democracy and human rights programming abroad. The Saltonstall-Kennedy Act established a fund (known as the S-K fund) used by the Secretary of Commerce to provide grants or cooperative agreements for fisheries research and development projects addressing aspects of U.S. fisheries, including, but not limited to, harvesting, processing, marketing, and associated business infrastructures (seesection IV, F; Funding Restrictions).
