The FY24 ASUDRP CA supports the establishment of a Consortium whose purpose is to identify, evaluate, and advance pharmacotherapies for alcohol, opioid, and other substance use disorders, with an emphasis on other co-occurring mental health conditions, through rigorous, collaborative research efforts that translate basic knowledge and early-stage clinical products into evidence-based treatments. The goal of this research is to maximize functioning and quality of life for Service Members, their Families, Veterans, and the American public.The proposed research must be relevant to Service Members, Veterans, military beneficiaries, and/or the American public.Each individual organization must apply to this program announcement as a Consortium Management Core (CMC) by means of a single application, and may also serve as a future research and/or trial site. The CMC will be responsible for coordinating with the Consortium Steering Committee (CSC) and Consortium Executive Committee (CEC) to prioritize, propose, conduct, and analyze basic research and clinical trials, and developing a roadmap to translate basic science knowledge into evidence-based treatments for ASUD. Clinical trials that include military and Veteran populations are encouraged.

The purpose of the Research Facilities Act Program (RFAP) is to assist qualifying institutions with the costs related to constructing, purchasing, updating, renovating, or modifying agricultural research buildings to conduct research in the areas of agriculture and food sciences. The proposed agricultural research facility must expand the institution;apos;s capacity for long-term impactful research and must be the result of thorough strategic planning. Awards may be used to fund the construction of buildings or sites for agricultural research facilities or other facilities that store agricultural research experimental samples or specimens, as well as the purchase of real estate or durable equipment. Activities might include, but are not limited to:Evaluating infrastructure and sitesConceptual planning and design for a newly constructed, restored, or rebuilt structure or placeCreating construction plans and schematics for the facility or site that is being built, restored, or rebuilt.Building, restoring, or remodeling a facility or location.Investing in and putting in permanent equipment for research monitoring and safeguarding samples and specimens.Investing in and putting in essential building systems like electricity, climate control, security, life safety, lighting, utilities, telecommunications, and energy management.

The purpose of the Maternity Care Nursing Workforce Expansion Program is to grow and diversify maternal and perinatal health nursing workforce by supporting the planning/development of new midwife training programs. This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Maternity Care Nursing Workforce Expansion (MatCare) Program. The purpose of the MatCare Program is to support accredited nurse midwifery programs to train nurse midwives through trainee scholarships, stipends, curriculum enhancement, and community-based training. The U.S. Embassy New Zealand Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to implement the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) to promote womens social and economic empowerment, pending the availability of funds. The cohort should take place sometime between 2025-2026. Each AWE cohort should include about 30 women meeting either online or in person. AWE cohorts may take place in any, all, or the following select countries: New Zealand, Niue, the Cook Islands, Tokelau, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Federated States of Micronesia. About the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs By ensuring that women have the skills, capabilities, and resources to fully participate in the economy, AWE directly supports the U.S. National Strategy on Gender, Equity, and Equality. AWE was established in 2019 to provide women with the knowledge, networks and access to launch or scale successful businesses. Cohorts of approximately 30 women meet online and in-person to learn core business skills such as strategic planning, marketing and finance, then discuss the material with local facilitators, business leaders, and U.S. exchange alumni mentors. Through its partnership with Arizona State Universitys Thunderbird School for Global Management and the Freeport-McMoran Foundation, AWE utilizes a no-cost, online learning platform. Used by AWE since 2019, DreamBuilder teaches participants the fundamentals of starting or growing a small business from a U.S. perspective, offering modules on marketing, pricing, and bookkeeping, and includes a built-in business plan generator. It is available only in English and Spanish, though posts may conduct mentoring and facilitation in local languages. This year, implementing partners may also use a new online curriculum, in whole or in part the Najafi 100 Million Learners Global Initiative - alongside or instead of DreamBuilder. 100 Million Learners Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Bootcamp may be most suitable to implementing partners who are looking for a more challenging business curriculum, or who wish to provide complementary modules on key topics in entrepreneurship and innovation. 100 Million Learners is currently offered in 20 languages and will add up to 20 more in the future. Proposals to establish new AWE cohorts must use either DreamBuilder or 100 Million Learners for their curriculum.

The NEA seeks a Cooperator to manage the Local Arts Agencies National Cohort Program (LAANCP), a new initiative to broaden support to Local Arts Agencies (LAAs) by providing services such as dedicated coaching, virtual programming, access to on-demand resources, in-person convenings, networking, and peer learning activities. The NEAs primary goals for this program are: 1) to build and strengthen a network of LAAs throughout the country and facilitate a multi-dimensional learning community for LAA leaders to exchange strategies and tools to respond to the fields trends and learn from peers and the fields experts; and 2) to offer resources and other assistance to LAAs based on best practices in the field.

Supports research on the magnetized plasma envelope of the outer atmosphere, including energization by the solar wind; the origin of geomagnetic storms and substorms; the population by solar and ionospheric sources; the origin of electric fields; the coupling among the magnetosphere, ionosphere, and atmosphere; and waves and instabilities in the natural plasma. Also supported are ground-based observational programs at high latitudes and laboratory experiments applicable to the geospace environment. NIA intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) soliciting applications that aim to develop Common Data Elements (CDEs) for Alzheimers disease (AD) and AD-Related Dementias (ADRD) using Real-World Data (RWD) from electronic health records and Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) claims. The CDEs will foster data harmonization and interoperability among data systems that involve disparate and unaligned RWD. By reducing the efforts required for data harmonization in using RWD for cross-sectional and longitudinal analysis, the NOFO may enable researchers to utilize RWD more efficiently and produce real-world evidence in a faster manner. The NOFO is expected to be published in March 2024 with an expected application due date in June 2024. Please note that these time frames are simply estimations, and they may change. The NOFO is expected to utilize the Resource-Related Research Projects Cooperative Agreements (U24) activity code. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. Additional details regarding the planned NOFO are below.

This project seeks to enhance detainees rights in Tunisia by expanding access to legal aid and improving enforcement of detainee rights in Tunisia. In 2016, Tunisia passed wide-ranging reforms of its Criminal Procedure Code (CPC). Act 2016-5 (Law 5) enacting article 13 of the CPC gave arrestees in police custody the right to legal counsel and significantly reduced the duration of legal pre-charge detention from 72 to 48 hours. By the order of public prosecutor and when justified, pre-charge detention could be extended with 48 hours for felonies and 24 hours for misdemeanors. In parallel, the anti-terrorism law of 2015 allows prosecutors and police to hold suspects for the first 48 hours without access to a lawyer and extends the duration of pre-charge custody to five days extendable two times for a total of 15 days. Since Law 5 came into force, its application has been uneven. This project seeks to ensure that the rights granted to civilians in Tunisia by Law 5 and criminal procedures proposing alternatives to detention, inter alia, bail provisions, are enforced consistently during the pre-trial phase.

The National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program NEHRP seeks to mitigate earthquake losses in the United States through basic and directed research and implementation activities in the fields of earthquake science and engineering. NEHRP is a multi-agency program consisting of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), FEMA, the United States Geological Survey (USGS), and the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NEHRP program supports the mission area of the FY20-24 DHS Strategic Plan titled "Strengthen Preparedness and Resilience," as well as the national preparedness goal of mitigation, as provided in the Presidential Policy Directive (PPD-8). NEHRP also supports the FEMA 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, by contributing to the accomplishment of Strategic Goal 3: Promote and Sustain a Ready FEMA and Prepared Nation. The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity is to provide grant funding to non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education who possess the expertise and experience necessary to develop and deliver multi-State and National earthquake mitigation and preparedness products and services (See Appendix A.), on behalf of States participating in the FEMA NEHRP State Assistance program (See Appendix D.). This NOFO funds Multi-State and National activities and is not intended to provide assistance to any one particular State or Territory. Those activities are funded through the FEMA NEHRP Individual State Earthquake Assistance grant program and require individual States to provide a 25% Cost Share. GTOs mission is to increase geothermal energy deployment through research, development, and demonstration (RD) of innovative technologies that enhance exploration and production. Its vision is a vibrant domestic geothermal sector that contributes to a carbon-pollution free electric sector by 2035 and a net-zero emission economy by 2050 while providing economic opportunities and environmental benefits for all Americans. GTO supports geothermal energy RD activities in six research areas aimed at increased access, reduced costs and improved economics, and improved education and outreach about geothermal resources. DOEs 2023 Enhanced Geothermal ShotTM analysis concludes that with aggressive technology improvements in areas relevant to enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), geothermal electricity generation could provide 90 GWe of firm, flexible power to the U.S. electric grid by 2050. Building a clean and equitable energy economy and addressing the climate crisis is a top priority of the Biden-Harris Administration. This FOA will advance the Biden-Harris Administrations goals to achieve carbon pollution-free electricity by 2035 and to deliver an equitable, clean energy future, and put the United States on a path to achieve net-zero emissions, economy-wide, by no later than 2050 to the benefit of all Americans. DOE is committed to pushing the frontiers of science and engineering, catalyzing clean energy jobs through research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD), and ensuring environmental justice and inclusion of underserved communities. Geothermal power offers a unique value proposition to support the United States target of 100% carbon-pollution-free electricity by 2035 and a net-zero emissions economy by 2050. Traditionally, geothermal power is well understood as a clean, firm generation resource with a high capacity factor, 24/7 availability, and minimal land use footprint. Moreover, the advent of flexible geothermal operations and geothermal power coupled with storage technologies broadens the breadth of services that geothermal power could provide to a decarbonizing grid. This FOA supports the administration goals laid out above by catalyzing regional grid modeling studies that quantify the potential contribution of geothermal power in supporting an equitable4 transition to a future decarbonized grid and economy. The research and development (R) activities to be funded under this FOA will support the government-wide approach to the climate crisis by driving innovation that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies, which are critical for climate protection. Specifically, this FOA will quantify the value of geothermal power to a decarbonized grid.
