Enactment of additional continuing resolutions or an appropriations act may affect the availability or level of funding for this program. The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing the potential availability of funding for agreements for the purpose of leveraging NRCS resources, addressing local natural resource issues, encouraging collaboration and developing state-and-community-level conservation leadership. Proposals must be for projects based in Iowa and focus on conservation issues. Collaborative projects that provide on-the-ground support for Iowa NRCS Field Offices are highly encouraged. Research proposals will not be accepted, nor considered. NRCS anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in FY 2024 will be up to $5,000,000.00, however, budget constraints may prevent NRCS from funding 2024 proposals. This grant enables individuals or entities to engage in agricultural practices on National Wildlife Refuge lands to support wildlife conservation and habitat management efforts without the exchange of federal funds.

The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to contribute to the knowledge base of and development of food safety systems globally due to the increasingly diverse and complex food supply. This cooperative agreement will: 1) enhance and broaden FDAs ability to address global food safety and public health issues associated with food, 2) provide opportunities to leverage additional resources among WTO member countries, and3) support the FDAs Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and its International Food Safety Capacity Building Plan, which emphasizes the concept of preventing food safety- related problems before they occur and the importance of establishing strong relationships and mutual support among all stakeholders, including multilateral organizations, to improve worldwide food safety. 4) Support global research and capacity building to improve best practices to build effective food safety systems in low- and middle-income countries

The purpose of this NOFO is: 1) To facilitate long-term improvements to the national food safety system by strengthening interagency collaboration, improving the states;apos; regulatory and surveillance protection programs for manufactured foods, conducting research, and promoting the Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standards (MFRPS); and 2) The continued development, implementation, management, and support of a funding system for those state and territorial agencies that have primary responsibility for regulating Grade A milk or molluscan shellfish (or both). Such agencies may apply and be sub-awarded funds to facilitate training, equipment purchases, or provide for other priorities needed to implement the Grade "A" Milk Safety program and the National Shellfish Sanitation Program (NSSP) within their respective jurisdictions.

FDA announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2024 funds to support one or more projects to 1) collect antimicrobial use data from diverse animal sectors, including domestic livestock, poultry, companion animals (dogs, cats, and horses), and minor species (e.g., fish, sheep, goats) and 2) contribute to the development of data collection frameworks, including providing data and expertise as resources and a public-private partnership frameworks are established. This grant will support the continued advancement of FDA;apos;s initiatives to support antimicrobial stewardship in veterinary settings. It will also support the National Action Plan objectives to engage the animal health community and relevant stakeholders to advance strategies intended to improve understanding of antimicrobial use and foster antimicrobial stewardship in animal agriculture.

The RFSP supports partnerships that connect public and private resources to plan and develop local or regional food systems. The RFSP focuses on building and strengthening local or regional food economy viability and resilience, and this includes pandemic response and recovery. Applicants will work with their partners to catalyze the development of local or regional food systems. Applicants will coordinate efforts within the partnership to set priorities, connect resources and services, and measure progress towards common goals. Partnerships are authorized to:Determine the size and scope of the local or regional food system in which the projects goals, outreach objectives, and eligible activities are to be carried out,Coordinate with AMS to receive technical assistance, andConduct outreach and education for potential participation in the partnership agreement and eligible activities.Partnerships must bring a variety of financial and technical capabilities, demonstrate experience or readiness to work effectively and collaboratively with public and private entities across sectors, and present innovative, sustainable, and measurable approaches to achieving the projects goals. RFSP grant recipients may apply for other LAMP programs on behalf of producers or eligible entities that desire to participate in eligible activities under the partnership agreement.

LFPP funds projects that develop, coordinate, and expand local and regional food business enterprises that engage as intermediaries in indirect producer to consumer marketing to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products. The program focuses on: Supporting the processing, aggregation, distribution, and storage of local and regional food products that are marketed locally or regionally, including value-added agricultural products;Encouraging the development of value-added agricultural products;Assisting with business development plans and feasibility studies;Developing marketing strategies for producers of local food and value-added products;Facilitating regional food chain coordination and mid-tier value chain development;Promoting new business opportunities and marketing strategies to reduce on-farm food waste;Responding to changing technology needs in indirect producer-to-consumer marketing; andCovering expenses related to cost incurred in obtaining food safety certification and improvements to food safety practices and equipment.

FMPP funds projects that develop, coordinate, and expand direct producer-to-consumer markets to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products. The program focuses on: Supporting and promoting domestic direct producer-to-consumer (including direct producer-to-retail, direct producer-to-restaurant, and direct producer-to-institutional marketing) marketing such as farmers markets, roadside stands, agritourism activities, community-supported agriculture (CSA) programs, or online sales; Encouraging the development of value-added agricultural products; Developing marketing strategies for producers of local food and value-added products; Facilitating regional food chain coordination development; Promoting new business opportunities and marketing strategies to reduce on-farm food waste; Responding to changing technology needs in direct producer-to-consumer marketing; and Covering expenses related to costs incurred in obtaining food safety certification and improvements to food safety practices and equipment.

Applications to the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative - Sustainable Agricultural Systems (SAS) Request for Applications (RFA) must focus on approaches that promote transformational changes in the U.S. food and agriculture system. NIFA seeks creative and visionary applications that take a systems approach for projects are expected to significantly improve the supply of affordable, safe, nutritious, and accessible agricultural products, while fostering economic development and rural prosperity in America. These approaches must demonstrate current needs and anticipate future social, cultural, behavioral, economic, health, and environmental impacts. Additionally, the outcomes of the work being proposed should result in societal benefits, including promotion of rural prosperity and enhancement of quality of life for all those involved in food and agricultural value chains from production to utilization and consumption. The GusNIP Nutrition Incentive Program presents the opportunity to bring together stakeholders from various parts of the food and healthcare systems to foster understanding of how they might improve the health and nutrition status of participating households. NIFA requests applications for the GusNIP Nutrition Incentive Program to support and evaluate projects intended to increase the purchase of fruits and vegetables by providing incentives at the point of purchase among income eligible consumers participating in the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the United States Virgin Islands, in addition to income-eligible consumers participating in the USDA Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP) in Puerto Rico, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands.

The National Institute of Food and Agricultures Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI) focuses oncollaborative science engagement that intends to develop a community of researchers across both crops and animalsthat will lay the foundation for expanding knowledge concerning genomes and phenomes of importance to the agriculture sector of the United States. Success of the initiative will inform approaches to understanding how variable weather, environments, and production systems interact with genetic diversity present in crops and animals to impact growth and productivity. This will provide greater accuracy in predicting crop and animal performance under variable conditions and more efficient selection of well-adapted, superior genotypes that farmers and ranchers can produce.

This Notice of Funding Opportunity is issued to announce the availability of a Cooperative Agreement designed to assist the FDA in developing, implementing, and improving a nationally consistent system of support which facilitates the implementation of state and territorial produce safety regulatory programs that are modernized and aligned with the standards set forth in the FDAs Regulation: Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption (commonly referred to as the Produce Safety Rule).This goal shall be accomplished in partnership with the FDA by identifying, generating, sharing, and leveraging resources andinformation which aids in the development and implementation of national, state, and territorial produce safety regulatoryprograms that are nationally uniform and consistent with the Produce Safety Rule, and which improve their effectiveness andenhance their capabilities.

The Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant program provides funding for rural projects through local utility organizations. USDA provides zero-interest loans to local utilities which they, in turn, pass through to local businesses (ultimate recipients) for projects that will create and retain employment in rural areas. The ultimate recipients repay the lending utility directly. The utility then is responsible for repayment to USDA. USDA provides grants to local utility organizations which use the funding to establish Revolving Loan Funds (RLF). Loans are made from the revolving loan funds to projects that will create or retain rural jobs. When the revolving loan fund is terminated, the grant is repaid to USDA.The Agency anticipates the following maximum amounts per award: Loans - $2,000,000; Grants - $300,000.
