CAL FIRE's Wood Products and Bioenergy team seeks to maintain and enhance the wood products infrastructure of California to promote healthy resilient forests throughout the state by supporting a diverse set of business development and workforce development projects.  ; Eligible business development projects include facilities, operations, and professional services that support the restoration of healthy, resilient forests.   Eligible workforce development projects include universities, colleges, government and community organizations, and businesses that aim to increase workforce capacity in the fields of logging, fuels treatment, transportation, manufacturing, or other support services that bolster the development of a resilient forest sector workforce.   Research and development projects related to both business and workforce development will also be considered. Hydrogen can serve as a zero-carbon energy carrier and act as a potential replacement for fossil fuels in hard-to-electrify applications, particularly for the transportation, industrial, and electricity generation sectors. For the purposes of this solicitation, clean hydrogen is defined as hydrogen produced from water using eligible renewable energy resources, as defined in Public Utilities Code 399.12, or produced from these eligible renewable energy resources. To achieve sustainable wide-scale deployment, hydrogen must be produced cleanly at increased scale and reduced cost. This solicitation aims to reduce the cost burden of clean hydrogen production through large-scale, centralized production coupled with storage, delivery, and pre-determined offtakers to support a comprehensive hydrogen value chain. Expected outcomes include the development and deployment of low-carbon, cost-competitive hydrogen production from renewable energy sources and reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in hard-to-electrify sectors.   The 2022 California Air Resources Board (CARB) Scoping Plan estimates that by 2045, demand for low-carbon hydrogen increases nearly two-fold the current levels of fossil hydrogen – or a 1,700-fold increase in existing low-carbon hydrogen supply – especially to support emerging end uses such as heavy-duty vehicles, power generation, industrial process heat, and synthetic fuels for aviation. Hydrogen produced from water using renewable energy resources or produced directly from renewable energy resources can provide low-carbon energy and act as an alternative to fossil gas, helping meet California's GHG reduction goals of 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2045.     

The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is offering the PRODUCT PROMOTION (GTP) Grants as part of the GO TEXAN - Marketing Enhancement Grant Assistance Program. This initiative is specifically designed to support GO TEXAN Product Partners at Tier 2 or higher in their efforts to market and promote Texas products that are produced, processed, or have added value within the state. The program offers tiered funding to accommodate businesses of varying sizes, with grant requests ranging from up to $50,000 for Tier 1, up to $100,000 for Tier 2, and up to a maximum of $200,000 for Tier 3. The overall grant size for the program is between $100,000 and $500,000, with a duration of 2 years, though individual projects are expected to be completed within 18 months from the award date. Expected outcomes include the successful completion of projects that significantly contribute to the targeted industries, measurable improvements in economic indicators within the state, and the sustained growth of businesses receiving the grants.

The Grain Storage Facility Safety Cost-Share Program, managed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), is designed to assist Minnesota farmers in enhancing safety at on-farm grain bins and silos. For the fiscal year 2024, approximately $75,000 is allocated to this program, which also encompasses the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) Rebate programs. The Angler Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (Angler R3) grant program provides financial assistance to partners who conduct Angler R3 programs and activities in Wisconsin. Funding is provided through the Dingell Johnson Sportfish Restoration Act, a federal aid program. The goals of the Angler R3 grant program are to grow the numbers of anglers in Wisconsin and expand angling participation among adults, particularly from non-traditional audiences. To achieve these goals, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will award cost-sharing funds to community-based organizations, community centers, government agencies, Wisconsin tribes, colleges, universities and schools to ensure the education and development of safe and ethical adult anglers. Grant awards may be up to 75% share of total eligible project costs.

The purpose of this solicitation is to award grants to fund projects focused on geothermal energy and lithium recovery from geothermal brine that support local jurisdictions and private entities to advance the geothermal sector and related activities per Public Resource Code (PRC) Sections 3800-3827 and California Code of Regulations (CCR) Sections 1660-1665. ; This solicitation aims to support the goals of Senate Bill 100 (SB 100, De Leon, Chapter 312, Statures of 2018), Assembly Bill 32 (AB 32, Nunez, Chapter 488, Statutes of 2006), and SB 32 (Pavley, Chapter 249, Statutes of 2016) to meet the eligible renewable energy, zero-carbon energy, and greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. The proposed projects must not exceed thirty-six (36) months in length – the project term must be in alignment with the proposed project scope and budget, and it is encouraged to explain that alignment in the Project Narrative (Attachment 3). The proposed projects are limited to addressing one of the eligible purposes allowed by the Geothermal Grant and Loan Program, as presented in Section I.C., Project Focus, per PRC Section 3823. This solicitation will be conducted as a two-phase process. Phase one is for local jurisdictions that want to compete for technical assistance funds to develop and prepare the full proposal for this solicitation. Phase one applicants need to complete a 1) Technical Assistance Application Form, 2) Technical Assistance Project Summary, and 3) Technical Assistance Scope of Work. Phase two is for local jurisdictions and private entities to submit the full proposal, as indicated in Section I E. (Key Activities Schedule) of this solicitation. See Part II of this solicitation for applicant and project eligibility requirements. Phase one and Phase two applications will be evaluated as follows: (1) proposal screening and (2) proposal scoring, as fully described in Section IV. Applicants may submit multiple applications, though each application must address only one of the eligible purposes identified in Section 1 C. (Project Focus) of this solicitation. If an applicant submits multiple applications, each application must be for a distinct project (i.e., no overlap with respect to the tasks described in the Scope of Work).

The FY24 BCRP Clinical Research Extension Award is a specialized grant mechanism designed to maximize the clinical impact of previously funded breast cancer clinical studies. The core purpose is to extend or expand the data collection, patient follow-up, and subsequent analysis of these existing trials. This is strategically aligned with the BCRP's mission to prevent the loss of invaluable knowledge that can occur due to early trial termination, limited patient follow-up, or suboptimal use of collected specimens and data. By supporting research that maximizes the value of patient contributions—such as tissue, serum, and data—the mechanism ensures that science respects and utilizes these contributions to accelerate progress toward ending breast cancer. The grant's impact goals are focused on extending or enhancing the influence of a previously funded clinical study, or generating completely new impact toward ending breast cancer. The ultimate beneficiaries include the American public, and specifically active-duty Service Members, Veterans, and military beneficiaries, as the proposed research must demonstrate relevance to these populations. The program strongly encourages collaborations between researchers at military/Veteran institutions and non-military institutions to leverage unique knowledge and access to clinical populations, thereby advancing cancer research critical to military families and the American public. The CDMRP also encourages applicants to review and address the recommendations of the congressionally mandated Metastatic Cancer Task Force. Key priorities and focus areas guide the research scope. Although not exhaustive, supported research may include deeper molecular analysis of existing clinical samples, initiation of new correlative studies, biomarker validation, or continuing clinical follow-up of patients from open or completed trials. The proposed work can be hypothesis-testing or -generating, but it specifically prohibits the conduct of new clinical trials. The program also prioritizes collaboration through the Partnering PI Option, accommodating two Principal Investigators (PIs) who bring distinct, yet equally valued, intellectual contributions to the project. A non-negotiable priority is the inclusion of two or more breast cancer Consumer Advocates who must provide objective input on the study's design and execution, focusing on the research's potential impact for individuals with, or at risk for, breast cancer. Expected outcomes and measurable results are rooted in rigorous data evaluation and sharing. Applicants must propose a study sample size that guarantees the generation of valid conclusions or a meaningful hypothesis, along with sufficient evidence and statistical methods to support their objectives. A required outcome is the outline of a robust data-sharing plan, ensuring that the scientific community will have access to the experimental platforms, molecular data, and other information generated from the research. The program anticipates funding approximately two Clinical Research Extension Award applications with a total allotment of approximately $18.6 million. The maximum direct cost for the entire period of performance is $5 million for a single PI application and $6 million for the Partnering PI Option.
