Program requests should deal effectively with identified problems and opportunities. In most cases, programs should be sustainable beyond the grant period and realistically match the requesting organization’s mission and capacity.  Organizations should be able to evaluate results against defined standards of measurement. Operating Grants The Priddy Foundation® considers general operating requests, but is wary of fostering annual budget dependency.  Operating grants typically require a grantee organization to present a practicable plan to achieve self-sufficiency and may require the organization to enter into a formal consulting arrangement with a Nonprofit Management Service Organization (MSO) to improve organizational capacity. Capital Grants The Priddy Foundation® considers capital projects for buildings and major items of equipment. Approval is more likely if the project has existing, broad support from organizations and individuals. Rarely will The Priddy Foundation’s contribution exceed 20% of the total project budget; often it will be much less. Organizations must attain their project fundraising goal and document that raised funds are sufficient to complete the project as presented in the grant application before a capital grant is funded. Organizational Development Support Grants The Priddy Foundation® has an interest in increasing the capacity of an organization to serve more effectively in a complex and changing world.  Requests for leadership development/capacity of board and staff, planning initiatives, technical assistance, and technology enhancements are considered. Organizational development grants must include a comprehensive plan supported by the organization’s board, outside professional assistance, if appropriate, and linkage between the leadership development plan and the ability of the organization to achieve and sustain its mission more effectively. Geographical Areas Interested primarily in programs that have the potential for lasting and favorable impact on individuals and organizations, the Foundation considers grant applications that have a physical location within the following counties: Texas Archer, Baylor, Childress, Clay, Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, King, Knox, Montague, Stonewall, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise, and Young. These small grants—which are easy to apply for and administer, and are available on a rolling basis throughout the year—are particularly appropriate for funding a speaker and/or the rental of a traveling exhibition, including those provided by Humanities Texas. Major grants for community projects Major grants for community projects fund up to $20,000 of the costs for comprehensive public programs such as lectures, seminars, and conferences; book and film discussions; interpretive exhibitions and materials; town forums and civic discussions; and teacher workshops. Programs should reflect substantial participation by both humanities scholars and members of the target audience(s). Major grants for media projects Major grants for media projects fund up to $20,000 of the costs for film, radio, television, or interactive programming related to the humanities. Applicants may request funds for any phase of the project, including scripting, development, production, post-production, and in some cases, distribution and free public screenings. Humanities scholars should play an integral role in determining the content and approach of the project. Grant Period The grant period must range from two to twelve months. Eligible Projects  Funded projects take many different forms—lectures, panel discussions, and conferences; teacher institutes and workshops; reading and film discussion groups; site interpretations; the development and fabrication of interpretive exhibits; and the production of films, television and radio programming, and interactive media. However, all funded programs have the following characteristics in common. With the major objectives focused on education and healthcare, the Foundation helps families, and Odessa, grow and prosper. Eligibility Criteria At this time, the Wood Family Foundation giving is focused on Odessa, Texas and the surrounding counties of the Permian Basin. Applicant organizations must be determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be exempt from federal income tax.  Applicants must provide a copy of their IRS Determination Letter of Ruling identifying their organization as exempt under section 501(c)(3) and exempt from Private Foundation Status under Section 509(a).  Applicants who are exempt under a Government Municipality must also provide proof of such. Any major capital campaign seeking to raise $1 million or more must raise approximately one-half of the needed funds prior to application to the foundation. All requests from universities or colleges should be approved by the development office of the university or college and submitted to the offices under a cover letter from the development office. The Foundation does not make loans or grants to individuals. The Foundation generally limits its giving to primarily educational and medical grants that provide benefits to the citizens of Odessa, Texas, and the surrounding Permian Basin area. Applicants must seek funding for the same proposal from various sources, as sole support of programs is rarely undertaken. Due to the number and magnitude of requests received each year, the Foundation cannot respond favorably to all requests. The National Academy of Sciences Gulf Research Program is investing $50 million in the Gulf Futures Challenge to fund projects addressing critical challenges in the Gulf region. The Challenge aims to discover and promote innovative and transformative solutions by leveraging the talent and knowledge of the Gulf's people. The competition focuses on three main areas: energy transition, environmental change along the coast, and healthy and resilient communities. Up to ten finalists will receive up to $1 million in project development support, with two finalists awarded $20 million each to implement their solutions. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, state, local, and tribal governments, and academic institutions from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Texas, with projects located within 100 miles of the Gulf coastline. The registration deadline is August 20, 2024, and the application deadline is September 20, 2024.

Supports applications for innovative research projects addressing critically important questions that will significantly advance knowledge of the causes, risk factors, molecular and clinical characteristics, prevention, and/or treatment of early-onset cancers. • Applicants may request a maximum of $300,000 per year for a 3-year period. • Multi-Principal Investigators (MIs) are allowed under this Request for Applications (RFA). See the Information for Applicants (IFA) document for definition and eligibility of MIs. See application limitations for Principal Investigators (PIs)/MIs, regardless of whether the MI is from the primary institution or a subcontracted institution. • Note that CPRIT does not allow the use of the term Co-PI. • Minimum effort for the PI and/or MIs throughout the project period is required. • FY25 salary cap has been set at $225,000 per year.

Funding available through this RFA supports the ongoing research and development of new and emerging technologies for the detection, diagnosis, prognosis, monitoring, or treatment of cancer. CPRIT created this RFA to fund new and emerging technology projects that do not easily fit into any of the three other CPRIT Product Development Research RFAs. Proposals may include, but are not limited to, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, production of radionuclides or their precursors, manufacture of cell-based therapies, processes to improve the quality of the samples used for cancer research or clinical care, and biomanufacturing of therapeutics. With appropriate justification, companies may use CPRIT funds to support studies that establish preclinical proof of concept, product validation, design, production, manufacturing and development, and clinical studies demonstrating safety and efficacy.

Supports applications that propose innovative cancer clinical studies in adults or children and adolescents that are hypothesis driven and involve patients enrolled prospectively on a clinical trial. Areas of interest include clinical studies of new or repurposed drugs, hormonal therapies, immune therapies, surgery, radiation therapy, stem cell transplantation, combinations of interventions, or therapeutic devices. Clinical trial must be planned to begin when contract is awarded.
