A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION U.S. Embassy Maseru announces an open competition for organizations and individuals interested in submitting applications to implement a project that will deliver tailored human rights training modules for Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) leadership and policymakers, covering topics such as international human rights standards, inmate rights, ethical conduct, and conflict resolution. This training should include interactive workshops and scenario-based learning exercises. Additionally, the project will support the establishment of a dedicated human rights unit within LCS to oversee compliance and investigate reported abuses.Program Objectives:1. Conduct comprehensive human rights training for Lesotho law enforcement agencies, and specifically LCS, building on previous UNDP training, to enhance their understanding and application of human rights principles in daily operations.2. PDS Windhoek invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the United States and Namibia through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. The objective of this specific funding opportunity is to improve media literacy, reduce vulnerability to misinformation and disinformation, and/or raise awareness about the importance of media literacy and fact-checking. Proposed projects will work with an audience aged 18 to 50. The Bachelor of Science Nursing Loan Repayment Program (BSNLRP) makes awards to eligible applicants currently licensed and practicing as a registered nurse for loan repayment of up to $15,000 in exchange for a 12-month service obligation practicing and providing direct patient care in an eligible geographic or approved site designation.

The Licensed Mental Health Services Provider Education Program (LMH) makes awards to eligible applicants currently licensed and practicing in an eligible mental health profession for loan repayment of up to $15,000 in exchange for a 12-month service obligation practicing and providing direct client care in an eligible geographic or approved site designation.

Background and Mission The Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) works to increase and diversify California’s healthcare workforce by providing loan repayments and scholarships to health professional students and graduates who provide direct patient care in those communities. LVNLRP is funded through a $5 surcharge from renewal and licensure fees collected by the Department of Consumer Affairs for Licensed Vocational Nurses in California. The purpose of this program is to increase the number of appropriately trained nurses providing direct patient care in a qualified facility or area in California.
