The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs (EB) announces an open competition for organizations to submit a statement of interest (SOI) to carry out a program under the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) Fund, created by the CHIPS Act of 2022. Please carefully follow all instructions below. The submission of the SOI is the first step in a two-step process. Applicants must first submit a concise no more than three (3) page statement of interest designed to clearly communicate the program idea and objectives. This is not a full proposal. The purpose of the SOI process is to allow applicants to submit program ideas for evaluation prior to requiring the development of a full proposal application. Upon a merit review of eligible SOIs, selected applicants will be invited to expand on their program idea(s) by submitting a full proposal application. Full proposals will go through a second merit review before final funding decisions are made. EB administers a portion of the ITSI Fund, the ITSI Promote line of effort, to help expand international semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP or downstream) capacity in key partner countries that will in turn diversify the global semiconductor supply chain. EBs objectives under the ITSI Fund are to: 1) Expand and diversify the required workforce for semiconductor ATP facilities to ensure growth; and 2) Improve regulatory environments that will encourage private sector efforts that generate additional capabilities in ATP facilities. The second is for Preservation/Enhancement, which includes the repair or improvement of tourism-related sites, and for placement of historical or cultural markers. The first type of assistance available is for Advertising & Promotion: This type of assistance targets markets outside of immediate area (over a 100-mile radius or out-of-state). Your organization must purchase paid advertising (such as magazine, newspaper, radio and television ads and billboards); printed brochures and calendars of events; and put together public relations kits for your event. Entertainment, labor, t-shirts, and other clothing items are not eligible for consideration. Your organization will be reimbursed for the purchases once deemed all qualifications are met and proof of bills paid by your organization. The second type of assistance available is for Historical/Cultural Enhancement: The primary purpose of this type of assistance is for the repair and /or improvement of tourism or tourism-related sites and for the placement of historical and/or cultural markers (such as Blues trail, Freedom trail markers, and other markers for historic preservation). This type of assistance is not for bricks and mortar projects. The Convention and Visitors Bureau will not provide this type of assistance for salaries or operating/administrative expenses. They will also give priority to projects for which the requesting organization is providing some of the funding necessary and/or has obtained additional funding from other sources. Proof of other funding sources may be requested by the Bureau, and may have to be presented before a decision is made.  Funding Information You may submit an application for only one type of assistance during the fiscal year; with a maximum request of $10,000. Requirements For the most part, requirements for grants are very simple, and include: Project must help the Yazoo County CVB to meet goal of increased visitor traffic, Yazoo County CVB must be recognized as a sponsor in all of your advertising, the exact proofs of your advertisements and press releases should be submitted to the CVB for approval prior to release, a final report and requests for reimbursement must be submitted no more than 60 days after completion of your project, and your project must have an established bank account in order to receive reimbursements. In some circumstances, the requirements can be a bit more complicated, and suggest that you take the time to read and fully understand the application before applying. The Toolbox grant is designed to help venue owners address a one-time, specific, and practical project to make their space even better for performers, staff, and visitors. DPR's Research Grants Program supports projects that seek to advance integrated pest management (IPM) knowledge in agricultural, urban, or wildland settings. Projects should focus on reducing impacts to public health or the environment from pesticides of high regulatory interest. Project/Event/Program must be tourism-related and designed to strengthen the visitor/resident experience within the county and increase the potential of visitation from outside the area. Project/Event/Program must demonstrate a measurable community or economic benefit. Tourism grant dollars may not represent more than 50% of the total project/event costs. The other 50% can come from other grants and in-kind donations.  Priority will be given to first-time projects and projects which promote out-of-county visitation and have more than a local impact.  When making decisions on grant applications, the MCVCB will consider such factors as:  Type and scope of the applying organization Applying organization’s resources Impact and priority of the proposed project  Timeline of the project o Other funding sources and support for the project o Is there a marketing plan associated with the project?  Does the project/event capitalize on off-peak or shoulder seasons, bringing guests to the community during times they wouldn’t normally visit?  The project’s ability to increase and track overnight stays and visitor revenue in Miami County  Number of grant applications received  Grant dollars requested from applications received Funding is not granted to an organization for administrative, clerical, personnel, or office equipment/furniture costs.  The MCVCB has the sole and final approval in granting these funds. The "Illinois Regional Site Readiness Program" is a $40 million funding opportunity from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, aimed at supporting infrastructure and capital improvements to prepare industrial and manufacturing sites for economic development across all 10 Economic Development Regions in the state, with individual awards ranging from $250,000 to $3,000,000, and applications open from July 23 to October 21, 2024.

NetWork Kansas, in partnership with K-State 105, is offering a one-time grant of $100,000 to $500,000 to support new or early-stage projects focused on entrepreneurship and small business development, with a maximum funding request of $125,000 per project and a 25% match required, open to for-profit businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, and municipalities in Kansas.

The United Way of the Wabash Valley is offering Successful Parenting Initiative Grants of $1,000 to $10,000 for projects that enhance parental knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices, with a focus on early detection of developmental delays and increasing school readiness in children, open to nonprofits, for-profits, local government units, and faith-based and community organizations in specified counties of Indiana and Illinois.
