The UST Cleanup Fund provides a means for petroleum UST owners and operators to meet the federal and state requirements of maintaining financial responsibility to pay for damages arising from unauthorized releases from their petroleum USTs. The Fund assists a large number of small businesses and individuals by providing reimbursement for expenses associated with the cleanup of leaking USTs.

The United States Agency for International Development in Vietnam (USAID/Vietnam) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement the USAID Climate Resilient Agriculture in the Mekong Delta Activity. Eligibility for this award is not restricted. The authority for the NOFO is found in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended. In June 2022, USAID/Vietnam and the Vietnamese Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) signed a Limited Scope Grant Agreement, entitled Climate Resilient Agriculture in the Mekong Delta. The Agreement lays out how USAID and MARD intend to collaborate to increase climate resilience, reduce methane emissions from the agriculture sector, increase sequestration of greenhouse gas emissions in the Mekong Delta, and protect biodiversity through four approaches: (1) expand low methane emission agricultural development; (2) build climate resilience for vulnerable communities; (3) promote nature-based solutions; and (4) develop climate-resilient and low-emission development policies. The purpose of the USAID Climate Resilient Agriculture in the Mekong Delta Activity is to support implementation of the Limited Scope Grant Agreement with MARD. The goal of the Activity is to advance low-emissions, climate-resilient agricultural livelihoods combined with biodiversity conservation to support carbon sequestration, healthy ecosystems, and resilience of vulnerable communities in the Mekong Delta. This Activity will build capacity of and develop tools for the related stakeholders at national and subnational level to help the most vulnerable communities in the Mekong Delta adapt to climate change impacts, protect and restore natural ecosystems, and reduce methane emission from agriculture practices. This Activity’s interventions will be implemented over a period of five years starting from the award date.The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather inputs for an upcoming funding opportunity for the activity that aims to advance low-emissions, climate-resilient agricultural livelihoods combined with biodiversity conservation to support carbon sequestration, healthy ecosystems, and resilience of vulnerable communities in the Mekong Delta.

To help marine businesses recover from the devastating impacts of January 2024’s coastal storms, Island Institute is expanding our Business Resilience Grant program. Grant awards of up to $5,000 are available for working waterfront businesses that directly support fishing and aquaculture on islands, and in fishing-dependent communities that were impacted by the storms on January 10 and 13, 2024. Maine’s fishing industry accounts for nearly $1 billion in annual revenue and it is under a multitude of pressures. Taking up a mere 20 miles of the more than 5,000 miles of Maine’s coastline, the working waterfront infrastructure along our shorelines is in grave danger of being lost forever. The more rural the community, the more reliant communities are on the marine economy. Without safe and reliable wharves, docks, and access ramps, Maine’s fishing communities grind to a halt. This infrastructure is the backbone of the coastal economy and importantly supports the families and communities that rely upon what they catch or grow. It is for this reason we are choosing to urgently support the resilient rebuilding of our working waterfront infrastructure. We will review grant applications weekly and have streamlined our application process to ensure these limited funds will quickly arrive in communities. Eligible applicants are for-profit businesses with shoreside infrastructure that supports multiple individuals or that plays a critical role in communities with demonstrable impact from these storms. Awards from previous fiscal years will not disqualify applications. There is a limited amount of funds available for the Business Resilience Storm Recovery Grants. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through June 10, 2024 (as long as funds are available), and reviewed weekly to ensure these funds will quickly arrive in communities.

The City of Stamford administers the Community Microgrant Program to support neighborhood level projects that improve quality of life across Stamford. The program provides small grants for sustainable and innovative initiatives identified by residents and community groups. Projects that create long term community benefit, invest in physical spaces and tools, and pilot new ideas are prioritized. The program has 75,000 dollars available for 2024, and grants may range from 1,000 to 10,000 dollars. Funds may support a wide range of activities based on local needs as identified by applicants. Eligible applicants include Stamford based nonprofit and charitable organizations as well as resident groups without legal nonprofit status that secure a fiscal agent such as a local 501(c)(3) organization or a city department. For profit organizations and individuals are not eligible. Projects must serve Stamford neighborhoods and residents. Applications are due May 3, 2024. Grant duration is not specified.
